Applicants to Portland area schools

Greetings fellow future nurses! I just mailed my application packets for Mt. Hood CC, Clackamas CC, and Portland CC today and excited to be done with them. I have my proctored essay for OHSU this Wednesday and am a little worried because I have NO idea what is going to be asked. I haven't been able to get any feedback on what is on any of the essays. I am also applying to Chemeketa but am probable wasting my time as I am missing 2 of the pre-recs required there that aren't required at the OCNE schools. Well, the worst they can say is no, right?

Anyway, the Oregon Nursing Programs sections has been a little dead lately so I was hoping to spark some dialogue. This is my first year applying and I'm already getting a little stressed. I kind of have a lot riding on getting in somewhere next fall. My fiance and I are kind of planning on it. I'm hoping that doesn't backfire! How's it going with everyone?

I wish I knew what time the mailman came!

My Mailwoman doesn't deliver till after 5 most days!!! Lucky, I'll be at work till 5:30!!! Gotta focus on work, gotta focus, gotta focus (to make the day go FAST!) I'll be online ASAP after checking mailbox! Good luck everyone!

Mail came...nothing Grrrr

Awww....sadness! I haven't gotten my mail yet, but I feel a bit of disappointment right now. I talked to someone this morning that said letters were mailed out yesterday morning. I wouldn't think it would take more than a day to deliver, ya know? I will post when my mail comes.

My letter came today! :) been accepted to ccc so i will be declining my spot at pcc. Yay!

I just got my acceptance to Clackamas. I'm really excited. :cheers: Now to decide between Clackamas and PCC.

It's not as cut and dried for me as many post have discussed here. Anybody have any thoughts on why you are deciding on which program?

For me the reason i am choosing ccc is because of the much smaller classroom size. I just think i will be able to learn the hand-on stuff better with more teacher attention. Plus its a bonus to not have to deal with the terrible portland morning traffic and terrible parking situation at pcc.

Does anyone know the deadline for OHSU? I am on the waiting list and wanted to get an idea as to when students need to send in their final answers.

That's great haleym and lilpoka. Where are you going Lilpoka, you got into MHCC right? So you have a choice between those two.

I am 99% sure I will go with Clackamas. I didn't think there would be a quetion about which I would choose (CCC) but I loved my interview with Mt. Hood and everyone there is so nice. I have heard nothing but super nice things about the program and instructors. But Clackamas is very close to home and I have heard great things about them too.

I'm still in a bit of shock! Tears....lots of tears....
