I have never used APA style to write a paper and really am worried. I'm just starting classes next week and they are already posting work for some classes. One class seems to be reflective learning(in your own words define this word..) but there is a report that is to be finished( IDK if there is others but she only posted one so far). I need a really good site on APA style of writing.

If you still need help with formatting, PM me. I will forward you a copy of a paper I completed. You can use it for formatting purposes.

Does your school have any kind of writing center? If so, have them go over the paper after you have done it so they can catch any formatting errors.

Thank you. This teacher had to complicate things the first day!

I use a program called Perrla. It's a download that costs about $35, although there is a free trial period. It formats the paper properly and has an easy, step-by-step citiation creator. You chose the type of work you're citing and basically just fill in the blanks as it prompts you. It also saves your citations so as you're working on the paper, you simply click on a button to add the citation in once you've created it. And of course, it creates a properly formatted reference page for you.
For shorter assignments, like regular ol' homework with one or two citations, I usually just refer to a book that we were required to buy or for ease, the Purdue Owl site. I like to "practice" on my own but for longer papers with multiple citations, Perrla saves me a lot of time.

My 1st degree was Psych so between that, nursing school, and my CRNA school books I have tons of APA references....yet, I always find I end up back to the good ol' APA Owl website! It's just too easily accessible!

I used PERRLA to get through my master's degree. Highly recommend it. Around $25 and good indefinitely (no annual reups).
