Anyone working during Nemo?

I have to be at work for 7pm but I am on my way in now (3pm) because the MBTA closes soon. A lot of my coworkers that are on tomorrow are staying in a hotel tonight. I am hoping my husband will be able to come get me in the morning, I took a picture of my badge so if he gets stops (it's illegal to drive after 4pm!) he can prove he is "essential" to me getting home! Otherwise I may be spending some time in our sleep center where they have some beds allotted for employees stranded.

Just curious as to who's out there braving the storm! (Also, I am 3 hours early for work and bored!)

Not I... I worked/saw patients this morning and then my agency closed at noon because of the storm. I like working in a non-essential role. I do know some of my former co-workers still working in the hospital are doing the same thing you did... they're already on their way in because the T is shutting down. I imagine a good amount of day-shifters will be stranded at the hospital or will have to walk home without the T. I remember walking home from Longwood to Brighton at 10PM once in 2007 when this happened:

I'm at work now :) I was working from 2:30 until about 12 then my manager said go get some rest because we will probably need you to do 7-3 and 3-11 tomorrow .. Ugh! Can't wait until I can just go home ... Sleeping in empty rooms is creepy

I'm at home right now watching the News and the expectation that nurses just sleep at the hospital or pay for a local hotel room and then walk to work is making me mad.

I had to work yesterday but got out at 3:30. Luckily I was able to drive home from Haverhill, about a 30 mile drive. I was VERY lucky to have this weekend off but if they asked me to stay I would have. Definitely a memorable storm!

I was up at 430am to shovel. Left at 5am, a 40 min drive normally took 1h45m. I arrived at 645am, the roads were bad and visibility was pretty brutal at times. Unfortunately, the nurse relieving me called to say she may not make it and I'm pretty ticked. If I can drive in during the worst of it, you can come in after the snow stops!

That is so frustrating! If you are scheduled, get there. I started my shift at 5p so people from the day shift could leave so if anyone called at 7a saying they couldn't make it in I would have been livid!

I am finally on my way home.. had to stay in a hotel room since the T was down and walking home was not an option. I split it with a fellow coworker so the price wasn't too bad, still sucks though. Beats the empty (creepy) room with a stretcher they were going to put me in though!

Really...you took a picture of YOUR license so your husband could pick you up?? I had 4 nurses stopped on their way into work. Three were allowed to continue...one was told to go home.

I took a picture of my work badge (half kiddingly) so he could show it to the cop if he was stopped. I don't have a car so he was picking me up. He ended up getting snowed in so it didn't matter anyway.
