Nursing Students General Students

Hello,

I am a new student. I live in San Diego, and I want to attend UCLA for the Nursing program. I am in CC right now, Miramar, and I am taking all of my pre classes. I know the school is very competitive, and they only take a limited amount of transfer students. I am working my tail off, and making sure I have everything right in order to get in. I was wondering if there are any students here that have gone through this process, or know someone who has. I am not a high school student that asks random questions. I am very serious about UCLA. I have a high GPA 3.8 to be exact, and it is going to get higher. Becoming a nurse for me is more than job security, it is going back to the front lines and making sure my Marines get better care in combat; furthermore, I like to become an NP and work in the inner city when I get out of the military. I was raised in Brooklyn/ Philly and health care is a big deal there sense it is very low. I would appreciate if anyone has good advice for me, for my application, and also ways for me to stand out.
