The exchange programs really do not work out in many cases, as you would come to the US on a J-1 visa, and in most cases they cannot be renewed. That is if your goal is to do an exchange in the US. You must still meet the same requirements as if you were getting a green card, such as taking the NCLEX exam and getting a Visa Screen Certificate, so much further ahead with getting the green card, and having your own choice as to how long that you wish to remain in another country.
