:chair: New to this forum but not to nursing. Is there anyone on here that lives near Louisville, KY? Thought to see if i can chat with someone near me. I live in Scottsburg, IN. I work not even 10 miles from the Kennedy Bridge in Indiana. I go to school through the week in Louisville,KY at Galen College. Great School for only a year after having your LPN. I have been a CNA for 6 years and an LPN for 5. I have been a Charge Nurse, Weekend House Supervisor and an ADON in those 5 years. So i am no stranger to supervisory positions. I love nursing. However, i am getting tired of Long Term Care. I love the elderly, don't get me wrong. Its just time for a change. So that is why i am getting my RN now. I see that LPN's are being limited to Nursing Home's. I just don't want to have that kind of limitation. I'd like to work in Labor & Delivery one day. Right now, my first priority is getting throught this program. Anyhow, i'd like to get to know some people. Want to chat?

Hello Angela and welcome to Allnurses! I am an LPN and live in Louisville-work for Nortons and am starting the RN bridge program at Spencerian this fall. How do you like Galen? I have heard some good things about their program. If you are wanting to get out of Long Term Care, Norton's hires LPNs for their MED/SURG and Tele floors-it is a great place to work. PM me with any questions. Chat with you soon.

Welcome to allnurses.com! I moved your post to the IN State Forum; there is also the KY State Forum at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f149/. We also have an LPN to RN Forum at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f233/ .

I had been an LPN for quite a few years, and had done HHC/vents; very rewarding.

I have had several interviews. Once for norton agency and one for working at Norton's downtown but they did not have the shift i wanted. They tell me that there were no openings. I'm sure that my application is still in their office. I haven't called anymore to see if there are any openings lately.I love med-surg and would love to work for norton's. My husband currently works for Audubon Hospital.. Are there any openings for weekends? Like Friday and Saturday 12 hour shifts, preferably night shift.

Just curious.

If you go to the Norton website they have job postings for MED/SURG LPN's at suburban. I believe they just opened a new med/surg floor there-supposed to be very nice. www.nortonhealthcare.com
