  1. I agree! This is a disaster waiting to happen! What happens if one of your patients are going bad? Who helps you, or looks after the other ones? I would be scared too!
  2. Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to answer and for the information. I will look into the daycares that you mentioned. That is so great that Cape fear has a daycare center! Hopefully the waiting list will not be too long. Thanks again for replying!
  3. Hi there NC nurses, I'm moving to Fayetteville soon and am hoping to get a job at Cape Fear hospital. I was wondering if anyone had any information on daycare or preschools in the area, maybe one that you used and liked or heard good things about? I would appreciate any help. Thanks! Bridget
  4. Yes, when you are done with school in Wa, you can apply for your license to work in Ca. If you move or travel to any other state, you just have to apply for a license to work in that state.
  5. Thank you everyone for your kind words, I am feeling so much better after reading these posts. Thank you again for taking the time to reply.
  6. Hi all, I am in need of a pep talk and I thought who better to ask than fellow nurses. Maybe someone out there is in the same situation. I am starting 3rd quarter of an RN bridge program (one more quarter after that!), I have 2 small kids and my husband is currently deployed. August will be one year since he has been gone, and we just found out that he is being extended until December. I feel so stressed right now (I know, who isnt). I'm living away from family and friends, so theres not much of a support system if one little thing goes wrong. I just wanted to vent and maybe reach out to some other military wives who may understand what I'm going through. Thanks for listening....
  7. I am also a avid seatbelt wearer. I don't understand how wearing your seatbelt can be enforced yet, some states do not require motorcyclist to wear helmets.
  8. I did not find her post to be offensive at all. Good grief, she never said that this pt disgusted her. She was simply voicing her fustrations, which we have ALL felt. To the OP, You have to realize that Drug addiction is a disease, a very sad one. With these type of pts you do have to set boundries while still providing excellent care. I understand your frustrations though.
  9. I like to watch Greys too. If you think about it, Grey's dosent exactly make doctors look good either. All that sex and bed-hopping going on....it is entertaining though.
  10. What do you mean by this? No one said anything about dusting for fingerprints.
  11. I'm not sure what the laws are concerning this-but you did the right thing. I would think that the hospital would not want to give you this patient for one to protect you, the Nurse. And two, to protect themselves against a potential law suit. What if the patient said you did not care for him/her and caused them harm because of the earlier assault?
  12. If you go to the Norton website they have job postings for MED/SURG LPN's at suburban. I believe they just opened a new med/surg floor there-supposed to be very nice. www.nortonhealthcare.com
  13. Sorry, but I don't think that your friend is giving you good advice. If you have the opportunity I would go for the ADN. You will have MUCH more open to you when you graduate.
  14. Hello Angela and welcome to Allnurses! I am an LPN and live in Louisville-work for Nortons and am starting the RN bridge program at Spencerian this fall. How do you like Galen? I have heard some good things about their program. If you are wanting to get out of Long Term Care, Norton's hires LPNs for their MED/SURG and Tele floors-it is a great place to work. PM me with any questions. Chat with you soon.
  15. There are a few states that do allow LPN's to administer IVP meds (Indiana being one of them). I do not know about IL-Contacting your BON would be your best bet.
