Hi there NC nurses, I'm moving to Fayetteville soon and am hoping to get a job at Cape Fear hospital. I was wondering if anyone had any information on daycare or preschools in the area, maybe one that you used and liked or heard good things about? I ...
I agree! This is a disaster waiting to happen! What happens if one of your patients are going bad? Who helps you, or looks after the other ones? I would be scared too!
Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to answer and for the information. I will look into the daycares that you mentioned. That is so great that Cape fear has a daycare center! Hopefully the waiting list will not be too long. Thanks again for replyi...
Yes, when you are done with school in Wa, you can apply for your license to work in Ca. If you move or travel to any other state, you just have to apply for a license to work in that state.
Hi all, I am in need of a pep talk and I thought who better to ask than fellow nurses. Maybe someone out there is in the same situation. I am starting 3rd quarter of an RN bridge program (one more quarter after that!), I have 2 small kids and my husb...
I am also a avid seatbelt wearer. I don't understand how wearing your seatbelt can be enforced yet, some states do not require motorcyclist to wear helmets.
I did not find her post to be offensive at all. Good grief, she never said that this pt disgusted her. She was simply voicing her fustrations, which we have ALL felt. To the OP, You have to realize that Drug addiction is a disease, a very sad one. Wi...
Boy do I know how you feel! I am starting 2nd semester, my husband is already in Iraq and we have 2 small kids. Away from family and friends, really no one else to depend on. So far I have been lucky with clincial times-but I pretty much keep my f...
I like to watch Greys too. If you think about it, Grey's dosent exactly make doctors look good either. All that sex and bed-hopping going on....it is entertaining though.
I'm not sure what the laws are concerning this-but you did the right thing. I would think that the hospital would not want to give you this patient for one to protect you, the Nurse. And two, to protect themselves against a potential law suit. Wha...

If you go to the Norton website they have job postings for MED/SURG LPN's at suburban. I believe they just opened a new med/surg floor there-supposed to be very nice. www.nortonhealthcare.com
Sorry, but I don't think that your friend is giving you good advice. If you have the opportunity I would go for the ADN. You will have MUCH more open to you when you graduate.

Hello Angela and welcome to Allnurses! I am an LPN and live in Louisville-work for Nortons and am starting the RN bridge program at Spencerian this fall. How do you like Galen? I have heard some good things about their program. If you are wanting...
There are a few states that do allow LPN's to administer IVP meds (Indiana being one of them). I do not know about IL-Contacting your BON would be your best bet.
I think that if the resident knows which pill he is to take- and you are just popping it out for him (because of arthritis, etc) that is ok-IMO. I would call the board just to be sure though.
CONGRATS!!! I am interested to know how much of your LPN experience helped you in the RN program and for the NCLEX-RN? Congrats to you again-how exciting for you!

We just moved from the Louisville area-my husband is in the army also. Louisville is 30-40 minutes away from Ft. Knox, we actually lived in Louisville and my husband commuted with a few buddies from his Co. to Ft Knox. I worked at one of the big hosp...

wow-sorry for your awful experience during a time that is so important and exciting! I had one baby in Germany and the other at Ft. Knox-both times I could not have asked for better care. Just curious-was your experience at Womack? Off topic-but I sa...
I delivered in a military hospital in 2001 and again in 2003 The first time I was an E-5 and the second time I was the dependant of my E-7 husband. Both times I was treated great as a patient-its funny how times have changed!
Hello-I'm not sure of the steps but maybe you could contact the NJ Board of Nursing, I believe that they handle CNA certification as well. Good luck with your move!
