Anyone waiting on Clark Com. College letters?

Published

The deadline of Oct. 1 is way passed, now we are just waiting on a yes or no. Anyone else waiting with me?

I am the same way. I finished all my classes in Spring of 2008. I am so ready to get started with nursing classes. I also took a PE class. I took tennis, which turned out to be a fun class. So, how many points did you say you have? Did you take a CNA class yet. I took mine from September through October, and took my boards one week later. I hope that we get letters early next week so that I could relax.:wink2:

After this term, I am completely done with pre-reqs as well. I am currently taking nutrition and all I have left is the final! whooo hoooo. I just wish all of the colleges had the same pre-reqs. I have a lot more done then I need to for clark and just enough for mhcc and clackamas. I cant wait to find out! I will remain scared and unsure until I get that letter. So did they say sometime this week or next week? or just next week? I hope you dont mind me asking but, what does twinsburgnurse mean? do you have twins? The only reason I ask is because I do and that would be something neat we'd have in common.

I have 45 points, and thats with my CNA. I took the class in August and got my license in September. To be honest, I took the class specifically for the 4 pts towards Clark. I am retaking a nutrition class right now, I didnt know I just needed basic nutrition for Clark where PCC wants the whole nutrition for health majors which I just got a B in. So if I dont get in this round, I will have my A in nutrition and 3 additional points. I have just 3.48 in science and a 3.49 gives 3 more points, so my new A in basic nutrition will push me over 3.49 in sceince. So then next app period I will have 48 pts which I think will get me in! Am I making sense??

My screen "Twinsburgnurse" is actually the city where I used to live. I used to live in Ohio and the city was Twinsburg and they had a annual twins festival, hence the name. I have a 3.6 in my science GPA and a 3.8 in my applicable GPA, and the additional 16 points plus 4 points for the CNA. I really hate that different colleges have different requirements and we spend so much time and money trying to meet the requirements for all these colleges. I just spoke to someone today and she said that the admissions department has sent the applications to the nursing department. She told me that they will be sending letters the second week on December.:heartbeat So, manye we will hear something early next week. I was told that the nursing department takes about a week to make decisions. GOOD LUCK

Yeah you are making sense. I have a 3.76 in science GPA (darn chemistry) and in the other section an overall gpa of 3.83. So I recieved 24 points for Science GPA, 7 points for the other overall gpa, 3 points for an additional science over the 17 credit minimum, 4 points for eng102, 2 points for psy211(human development), and 4 poitns for having the minimum requirements complete. For a grand total of 44 points. I dont have my CNA but I will get it if I dont get in this time so that next time I will have 4 more points plus an extra 3 for completing nutrition since you get 3 points for every additional science. so next time I apply if I dont get in next time, I will have 51 points. So I am not too worried about not getting in this time (I'll just start 3 months later). Dont get me wrong, I want in this time so bad. This wait is killing me. I hate how it keeps getting later and later. I talked to someone on tuesday last week in admissions who said that they were taking the letters to the nursing dept at the end of the day and that we should get them this week. But then agian, there was a holiday.

I applied to Clark last year at this time and got in with 45 points. I declined though because I got into Clackamas, which is much closer to me. As far as the schedule went, Clark had a morning and nighttime schedule to pick from. I found out the first week of last Dec. I have a friend who is in the program right now. She says she loves it but it is so much work. She studies about 40 hours a week and drives an hour each way. She says they have a lot of great opportunities though. Good luck to all of you.

Is anyone planning to going the BSN route? I am looking into that. I think that it's a great opportunity to get your BSN in 3 quarters. If I get in, I plan to talk to someone in advising and ask them what additional classes I need to take in order to meet the requirements. If you get in, are you planning on taking day or evening classes. I am planning on taking all day classes so that I can do homework in the evening.

Yes, I am. I just think might as well get all my schooling done at one time and completely be done. Although part of me wants to pusue my masters down the road. You need 2+ years exp. as a nurse to get your masters. We'll see though, who knows in those two years I might learn more about nursing with a masters and change my mind.

I know what you mean. I sometime think that I should just get it over with. I also plan to go for my master degree for nurse practioner. I am curentlly working as a unit secretary in a hospital and I am hoping that my medical experience and knowledge about the hospital system helps me in the long run.

I am def going the BSN route. I figure might as well while the option is open. I too will have to talk to a adviser to find out what additional things I need. I just hope I wont need foreign language, Im almost more scared of that then I was of Math!

Has anyone heard anything. This is the week. I am nervous to check my mail!!! When I talked to someone on monday they told me that they will send out letters on monday. Wish you guys the best and hopefully we will be in the program together.

I talked to Barb in the nursing dept on friday and she said that they hadn't sent out the letters yet but we should get them by the end of this week. So I am thinking since she doesn't know where I live, she was probably saying that just in case you live farther away? Hopefully they go out today. If they do we will get them tomorrow or Wed! I wish you both the best of luck too and I hope we all get accepted. My mail soesn't come until 3-4pm so you guys will know before I do. Thats why I check this post everyday before my mail comes. I cant wait!
