I just moved to Austin from a smaller town in Texas and I don't really know anyone yet. It would be great to meet some fellow nursing hopefuls before school starts in a few weeks.

Hi!! I am taking my nursing pre-reqs at ACC right now. I took Anatomy at Cypress Creek last semester and am taking Pharmacology and Intro to Micro this semester. Aiming to take Physiology in the Fall of this year. I am taking Pharmacology at Eastview and Intro to Micro at Cypress. Which campus are you attending?? Welcome to Austin by the way!!
I just now saw this, sorry for the late reply!
how is pharmacology going so far? I was unable to get into the class that I needed (anatomy) this semester so I took Intro to A&P but unfortunately I am having to drop it for personal reasons. I am hoping to take anatomy this summer and hopefully one other course (I was thinking pharm. if it's not too difficult!) I hope to get classes at Rio Grande since I can walk but I will take anything that's open!
I only need anatomy, physiology, pharm, and micro and I can apply for the program!

Tell me how ACC is. I am looking into nursing school at Temple College or EMS at ACC. I already have all my prereqs taken care of. Well, my micro class I got a 'C' in, the rest I got a 'A' in. I'm thinking about retaking micro to do better, but I don't know. Well, welcome to Austin. I hope it is good to you and that you are able to fit right at home.

Another ACC pre-nursing student here! Welcome to Austin!
I'm just starting my prereqs. Would love to hear feedback on Microbiology and Pharmocology!
GG :wink2:
I am taking Pharmacology and Intro to Micro this semester. I would definitely recommend taking Pharm with Nancy Glass, she is an RN and really teaches you what you will need to know as nurses. She tells you what you need to focus on for the lecture tests. Her first test was 100 multiple choice questions and I got a 96. So far so good, our second exam is this Monday over the 2nd Unit and it looks to be alot harder than that first unit. The dosage calculations are tough. I recommend getting help early and signing up for the dose workshops, they really do help. For Micro I am taking Suzy Mathis who is by far the best professor I have had. Her passion is Micro and you can tell in how excited she gets about teaching it. It is a very tough class though. She does great reviews for the exams and the labs are really fun. It is alot of info though. After our first lecture test, the class average was a C. But you can drop a lecture test grade.
