Hey there guys. I just started Kaplan about 2 weeks ago and so far learned many great strategies. I took my Diagnostic Test and scored a 63% which is considered borderline. Kaplan suggests to maintain a 65% or more. The program has some great review online, question trainer and qbank, but I am scared that Kaplan may not be enough to just pass the NCLEX. I take my Readiness Test this Saturday, but I do not feel so ready for this exam or the NCLEX.
I am thinking of doing Suzanne's First Tip. I hear it takes a month and I wish I did it sooner, but if it helps people pass then I am going to do it. Does anyone think this is a good idea for me?
I also took Kaplan and will be taking my test in 2 weeks. If you do well on Kaplan chances are you will pass. From what I heard, Kaplan questions are harder then the NCLEX. (From previous graduates that passed the NCLEX the first time) Lets hop this holds true. When I talked to the Kaplan people they said that you should aim for 65%. I also took the ATI predictor right after school was over and it gave me an 85% chance of passing. All I can do is continue to do the questions and keep studying.
Hey there Suri08. I just finish my Kaplan course. I got the same score for my Diagnostic and Readiness which is a score of 63%. There are some areas I did well on and some where I still suck, ie Pharm. Right now I am still using Kaplan and I am going back and reviewing content and questions I did not understand online. I like the Kaplan because of the online capability to review anytime, I just hate how real player is not user player and sometimes video time out. The video and class part was really helpful because they told me the hints and what to expect for the NCLEX. I also like learning how to look at questions with the Decision Tree.
I dont like the course book as much, but I am trying to work with it. If I must I do have other sources and I have been looking into it to help me review. I am trying to do qbank of 50-100 questions a day. So far Im getting 57-63%. I have to keep at reviewing. I plan to take my test February 25. It should be enough time to keep studying and reviewing. Its weird because when I took the ATI I had a 94% chance of passing on my first attempt. I just suck at the Kaplan questions. Well like you said it too, the Kaplan questions are suppose to be harder than the NCLEX and other review. so Good luck to you and everyone else.
