Well, I am done with CNA school and am waiting for my exam date to come in the mail.. it should be within the next 3 weeks so I am very excited. After reading this site, I am even more excited. I have always wanted to just help people.. and finally I am getting there.
Well, I have gone back and forth on pursuing my LPN, and am eager to get that started ASAP. I have read and read info, spoke to people and decided to attend Galen College of Nursing here in St. Pete. I will get a Pell Grant and some financial aide, however I will also have some hefty loans to pay in the coming years.. but -- after weighing all the pro's and con's at 39 I do not have 4 years to wait in hopes of getting into SPC or HCC... I have worked as an Executive Admin/Analyst making good money for the last ten years, but have also been laid off 3 times.. so over it!! Tech companies, real estate.. who knew?
I was almost there with PTEC but they do not have a great pass rate and that is scary to me. Also, it is just a sit and wait game, I am getting titers on all my immunizations, I also heard a partial packet is just kicked right out.. I cannot make the blood work come back faster.. plus at my age I need all the hands on help I can get.
Soooo, just wanted to know? Has anyone else taken the PAX? How was it? Anyone else in the same boat as me? I am pretty excited as I know this is what I want.. I also cannot wait to get thru my state exam for CNA... I am not too worried about that one..
