anyone taken A&P online?

Published

Hi, I am going to be taken A&P online. It is totally online, and a 12 week course. I"m just wondering what to expect.

Wow. That sounds like a class you are going to have to be really prepared for! I have taken a few online courses but not A&P. The most important tip from me is to not put off your studying. Get on it right out of the gate and prioritize your time. Falling behind is so easy on an online course, and with A&P you just cannot fall behind. Best of luck to you! :)

If you go to the "Distance Learning" forum, I know there are several people who have taken that online. Better yet, do a search of that forum and you'll get lots of old threads about it. Right now I'm doing Bio online, this summer I'm doing Micro, and I'll be doing A&P online this fall.

I did A&P II online - don't fall behind! The majority of the work is yours. It was incredibly tough but can be accomplished. Sometimes you have to guide the instructor for specifics on exam material. Use your fellow classmates as a resource.

I took A&P I last semester and I loved it!!! I'm currently taking A&P II. All of our labs were taken at home on the computer with lab simulating software. We averaged 1 lab everyweek and 1 quiz every two weeks (which were timed). Our Midterm and Final had to be proctored, so I had to go to my local CC and take them there. But other than that I didn't seem to have any problems with the class. I love online classes - if I could do them all that way I would!! (I don't want to pay for daycare, and lectures and labs can sometimes be really boring IMO).

As long as you read your book and study the most important information you should do fine!!

Good luck!

The wife of a coworker took A&P online last semester (I took both I & II as intensives in one semester). I'm taking chem online this semester (started today) and I'm already stressed out about it! LOL :)

I took A&P 1 last semester through Colorado Community College Online and loved it. It was totally online, no proctored exams , the instructor was awsome and I learned a lot.

I agree with what has already been said, don't procrastinate. Stay on top of the work and use all the resources available. I got a lot out of being able to compaire what the slides in class looked like with others on the net. Good luck!:)

Online lab classes! Wow I don't think my state allows those on a nursing license. You guys are lucky. Where do you take the tests? My state requires all tests to be taken on campus. It is strange how some states are so lenient and some are so strict.

You have to have the midterm and final proctored, so I'll be going to my college where I'm officially enrolled, and they will administer the tests, then forward them to the school from which I'm taking the online courses.

Most of the schools discussed here that people take courses from (Rio Salado, CCC, etc) are fully accredited, so I would be quite surprised if your state didn't accept them for licensure. In fact, I was under the impression that the only thing required for licensure is a degree, so it wouldn't be the state that would allow/disallow these credits, but the college/university from which you'd be receiving your degree.

My courses do this as well. And although I'm taking the classes online, they don't show up any differently on my transcript than the "regular" classes do.
