Well, hello there classmate! I'm Heather, nice to meet you! Pm me anytime, I'm starting with Deaconess this month, too. My situation is a little different, since I am living in Germany. What sections are you in??
*snoopy dance* I am so excited to know a classmate on the boards!
Here's to a great year!!
Hi gonnanurse and welcome! Not a new DCN student but willing to help along the way if I can.
If there is one suggestion I would offer, get a carton of printer paper and an ink cartridge too if you plan to print the course contents. I know, DCN says that's not necessary but I can't always have my computer in front of me when I have a few minutes to read so I print the course contents to tote along. Dang, for the $$ of the program I have suggested they print them for us but that suggestion was not well received!
Good luck and pm me if I can help.

Hi after learning about Deaconess on this discussion board, I applied and got in for January 2005. So- I am wondering if anyone out there took the leap as well? Now that I am in the program, I am going to start looking for a clinical site for the second semester. Luckily, it will be summer, and since I am a teacher, I will have the flexibility to complete the hours, as well as travel to Missouri. I am sure the third semester will be challenging since I will be working.I would appreciate information from anyone as far as transferring in credits, etc. I am planning to take the general education courses at either CCC online or Rio Salado.Anyway, I look forward to hearing from any of my "classmates" out there.
Hi gonnanurse
Welcome! I will graduate from Deaconess in July. It has been an awesome experience. Whether or not the course content was printed out had no bearing on the great education I got. I worked with it. I'm happy to have been able to become an RN, doing it online. There are trade-offs.
If you have any questions, please PM me.
