I am studying to retake the science portion as well. I passed Math, Reading and vocab on the first try with 97, 97, and 85. The Science part however I have taken twice already. If you have not been in school awhile you forget the chemistry and biology. It's not like you use it in everyday life. Good luck to you.
I will be re testing in Aug.

Well I got my test scores earlier in the week. I was worried because I didnt study as my wife whom is an RN said that I wouldnt need to. The Verbal, Reading Comp and Math were easy but Science was HARD...
I ended up with 99, 99, 99, and 92... I am hoping to find out soon whether I got in or not... How long did it take for everyone else?

My guess is that you will find out soon. I am sure that you will get in with those scores. Once you get in, you have lots of paperwork to do before August27 which is when classes start. I waited a long time to hear after I took my test, but then again, I tested in December for Fall admission. Once you get your acceptance letter, you will have to go to an orientation , probably a week after you get the letter. So you will probably hear something soon since there is alot to do before you start. Anyway, good luck and let us know when you hear.

I am interested in starting nursing school in the fall of 08. However, it's been 18 yrs. since I've had any formal schooling. I'm 34 and am nervous about taking an entrance exam. I have 4 children and am interested in the evening weekend program. I pretty much went right from high school to being a wife and mother. I was wondering if the books that they suggest to help study for the entrance exam really help. I'm contemplating wither going back to CCAC for refresher courses or studying really hard and just take the test. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks in advance. Jill:o;)

Hi, I'm a Shadyside student. I would highly reccomend you use Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Examination Marion F. Gooding, ARCO Publishing Co. (2000) to study for the exam. The reading and vocab was fairly straightforward, I didn't think the math was too bad (you were aloud to use a calculator), but science was the worst. On the science section it was just such a variety, a little chem, a little physics, a couple bio, some nutrition, general science, etc.
Good luck with your schooling

Hi, I'm a Shadyside student.
Christine, you're in the program now? Are you a full-time student? I'm really hoping to get into the program in the fall of 2008 but don't know whether to go the part-time or full-time route. Does anyone have any thoughts to share on the advantages of either?
Part of me would love to have the luxury of learning at a slower pace and hopefully maybe retaining a bit more that way.
But I will be turning 44 next year so don't really want to dawdle!
Is the full-time program so intense that you feel you don't have time to assimilate the material?
Any thoughts any of you can share would be much appreciated!
Thank you.

Hi Jill,
I had a lot of success with the Marion E. Gooding Nursing School and Allied Health Entrance Exam book. Good luck! Sharla
Hey, Sharla! Are you taking classes at Shadyside this semester?
Hey! I just retook the entrance exam last Wed. I passed all but science the first try and then took Biology at CCAC to remediate. I am hoping to hear this week about my scores then I will send in my application for Spring 08. I am going to choose full-time. After reading a few posts, I see you got in for fall. Congrats! I'm sure you will do great. Sharla
Hello
For those of you currently attending Shadysie, did they provide you with a college email? As a facebook user, I realized that Shadyside is not listed as a network you could join. Other nursing schools, however, were listed. In order to add Shadyside as a network, you need to provide a college email. Thanks for you help. Sharla
