Im just wondering how long it took before you knew the results?

I took the test in Milpitas last Saturday (3/26) and have been stalking the BVNPT website waiting to see my name :nurse: I know it's too soon, but wishful thinking after they took 4.5 months to process my paperwork

Also, have you found a place accepting new LVN grads? I cant find ANY positions available to new grads (looking in Modesto and a 40 mile radius)! Ive been in the medical field for 14 years and have a strong background. Im hoping that would help, as my only real option is to apply for positions and ignore that "1 year of experience required" in the job descriptions.

I took the exam back in 2009. It took me about 22 days from the time I took the exam til the time I received my results in the mail. After the 22 days it took about a week to see my name on the BVNPT website and then a week after that to receive my license in the mail. My friend took about 8 weeks just to receive her results and that was October of last year. After that it took about 2 weeks to see her name on the website and about a week to receive her license in the mail.

The BVNPT doesn't function like the BRN. In other words your name wont show up on the website until you send in your application for licensure and pay the fee after your results are mailed to you.

I'm sorry I forgot to add that you're going to have a hard time finding a job as a LVN as 95% of the positions seem have that "MUST have at least 1 years experience" plastered on their posting. I know that CDC hires new grad LVNs after they are registry for at least 6 months. Good Luck

You are not going to see your name on the BVNPT website anytime soon. Here's why.

Since California still operates by way of snail mail, you are going to have to wait several weeks for your hard copy results to arrive in the mail. If you passed, you will have to mail a check or money order for $150 payable to the BVNPT. Once the BVNPT cashes this check, your name will appear on the website with a license number a few weeks thereafter.

In other words, you will not see your name on the BVNPT website until well after you have paid the $150 for your license.

No $150 = No license number

You can find the experiences of others in the NCLEX forum, but be aware that CA is not consistent in the way they process paperwork for licenses. It does not work on a first in, first out basis. One person may get their results in two days, while another waits for weeks.
