Nursing Students Excelsior

Hello! Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has recently taken the A/P test through excelsior? If so, how hard did you find it to be? I am in a time crunch, I paid for the test when I was a new nurse just starting out, and of course have not found the time to study as I have been learning to be a nurse instead! Now I have to take the test next week or I lose the test fee that I paid. I know I may fail it, but I am at least going to try it, if for no other reason that to see whats on it. Anyway, I bought the study guide through the people that everyone recommends, studyshack or something. There is so much information its overwhelming. Can anyone tell me what kind of things I should be studying? Is it geared towards nursing, or just general a/p questions? Also I took the pretests through excelsior, are they anything at all like the real test? Thanks for any input :o)

I took it a year ago, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I used an older ANP book and studygroup101 and got at A - which amazed me! I studied for 4 weeks, but probably could have done it in 3 - heavier on physiology than anatomy.

Hi I'm getting ready to take A&P test through excelsior. I ordered studygroup101 study guide, but its over 1900 pages. Don't have a clue where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should study or focus on? Thanks for any help.

Read over the content guide, then start on section one of your study guide. All the pages is because there are oodles and oodles of quizzes and pictures and things for you to check out, but start with just the 'study guide' stuff. I'd read through a section, take a quiz or two and if I did well, go on to the next, if not I'd re-read the section and check some of the additional stuff. I'd taken A&P before but they were too old, so it was really a review. I didn't use the practice exams from EC for this one but they are an excellent study tool.

again, will suggest getting the Vangonotes dot com, look up the recommended text by Excelsior and download that audio. it goes over the major physiology and anatomy needed to pass the exam. Also A&P the Easy way, and for Microbiology exam I did this as well. you can listen on your computer or on an MP3/Ipod player on the go! =) I used to listen while i cleaned house and folded laundry!

I started studying for a&p last october! Way too much to know. I finally stopped and started looking for other resources to use besides the book. Hopefully, I get bck to studying soon. Good Luck! Wish me luck too!
