Hey just wanted to reply...yes, I got in the program, and am about to graduate in 3 months. I can hardly wait!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a tough program, a LITTLE disorganized:chuckle , and forget about having any kind of a life for 9 months, but in the end I am glad I did it, because I'm almost through.

Sunshine, Please tell me anything you can about how to succeed in this program. Also, what did you think helped you to be accepted? What are they looking for in the interview?
To get an interview, you should have over a 2.75 (this is what a counselor from olol told me) and have a great essay. They are basically looking for an overall well rounded person rather than just a 4.0 student. They then give 75 of these people to Tulane to interview and pick 50. Just relax during the interview and answer the questions the best you can.
To succeed in the program, you need to give it your all. You have to be willing to do anything to finish. during fundamentals, I wanted to scream, pull my hair out, and cry. But I finished it. I have pulled several all nighters studying for exams. You have to be flexible because our schedules change constantly. Good Luck!!!!
Ok, so when you graduate, you have to work at Tulane for 2 years, correct? How do you feel about that? Is Tulane a good work environment?

Sunshine0425- you said they are disorganized at OLOL. I am applying there as well and I am just curious what you mean by that. Thanks for answering all of these questions about the program for us that are applying!
Sunshine, I noticed that the date on your post about the receiving a letter was dated 6-8-2006. So you did not just receive your letter, actually you are in the program now, right, so somehow an old post was put in this thread?
also ASN/BSN2ndBSGirl, no one really wants to put their GPA out there for everyone to see.
Yep, I am currently in the program. This thread was from last summer. I can't believe how fast time goes by. I am going to be a nurse this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are only about 30 out of 50 left in the program, it's tough but seeing the end in sight makes it all worth it.
Good luck to you Sunshine, I cannot wait until I know that feeling. It is hard to believe 20 students did not make it this far. I will stand on my head to finish, do whatever it takes. Hope to see you at Tulane next year.
When I say disorganized, I mean disorganized....BUT we always seem to get done what needs to get done. I think a lot of it is that they just moved the program back to NO from BR. There seems to be a lack of communication from the main campus and the NO campus and Tulane. Our class has a lot of type A personalities and this is hard when it comes to scheduling. We don't get our schedules until right when the class starts. A lot of people get very upset by this. THis means no planning in advance for anything. You are basically their's for the duration of the program. If you think about it, it is sooooooo much that has to be done in nine months. I love my classmates, and that helps...we are almost like family. Tulane has a stipend and pays new nurses well. hmmmm....I can't really think of anything else. If ya'll do get in ....survive the first two months and for the most part, the rest gets easier.
