  1. AngelP, Believe it or not, I think we have worked together if I am thinking you are who you are. At RO ED? If not, I just want to tell you that you and I have similar backgrounds- I have my BA and MA in Psych. I just graduated from OLOL Tulane in May and now work as a Psych RN. I love this job very much and know that you would make an excellent nurse. Please don't give up.
  2. Our current schedule at Tulane OLOL Accelerated program is something like 3 days of lecture and 2 12 hour days of clinicals each week. It is definitely subject to change, but for now, it's not too bad.
  3. Our nursing instructor in NO told us that the BR accelerated program does not offer the stipend this year but then again you also have no signed contract with any hospital. That means you are free to work where you want.
  4. I am currently enrolled in the New Orleans Accelerated program. We just started last Tuesday and it's already been QUITE an experience! I'm so fortunate to have been accepted and am grateful. My credentials: BA in Psychology. Master's in Psychology. 4 years experience in two different hospitals. Overall GPA around 3.75. Go ahead and finish up your prereqs. One recommendation: take medical terminology now. I didn't and now have to take it at school. It would give me a lot more free time right now if I would have taken it before.
  5. Thanks soooo much for the tips. I have printed out what you wrote, for future reference. I am starting this Fall and am so excited about the program. I already bought my pharm books but am still looking to buy some used books from someone. If you think of any more good info for us, post it!
  6. How important is it to buy all of the books NOW? We start on 8/14 and I would like to buy the books used online, but am afraid that if I buy older editions, that may not work. How acceptable is it to have an older version of a book? Also, if I WAIT to see if we really need the book and we DO, will I have time to order it in that hectic week of a test? This is a serious concern of mine.
  7. Well, like you, I was also accepted to both Charity and OLOL Accel. NOLA. I chose OLOL. Charity is a wonderful school and I am sure I would have been happy there. But, to be honest, I have been in school for a VERY VERY long time. OLOL is giving me a chance to finally FINISH and be a nurse by next SUMMER. That,to me, is worth anything. I am ready to move on, and this is such a great opportunity.
  8. I am taking Chemistry this summer too. Luckily it's a very easy class. I got this health packet for OLOL in the mail yesterday and it is SO overwhelming!
  9. Hey y'all, When do you think we start? I am sure we will find out on July 2 at orientation...just wondering if anyone has the inside scoop or any news?
  10. Got the letter today! Can't wait to start and meet you all!
  11. I check the mail relentlessly every day this week. Will it be tomorrow??? Friday??? Can't take the suspense any longer!
  12. Thanks so much for telling us! Looking forward to hearing good news and then meeting ALL of you!
  13. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm glad the journey's short. I had my interview and felt that it went very well. I hope the feeling was mutual.
  14. I have a question for you: how prepared do you feel for the boards? Does OLOL have a lot of graduates who pass the state boards?
  15. Has everyone heard the BIG news? OLOL has pushed up the interviews so that we can know sooner what the decision is. My interview was moved from june to next week!
