Hey guys
has anyone been thought or has any insight on NSLIJ OR fellowship? I just had my second interview with several nurse managers and the director. How long does it usually take them to get back to you with an answer?
I also feel feel kind of mad at myself because I mentioned "kids" in my interview. Is that a "no-no" ;(
please shed some light on my situation. Thanks! :)

What do you mean you mentioned "kids"?
The fact that I have kids

I really don't think having kids would affect your application!
Who cares if you have kids. That should not be a reason to not hire you.

No, many people in the fellowship have kids. They'll get back to you fairly quick. The nest cohort starts January 25th :)
Which unit did you go for?
PS we're Northwell Health now. No more NSLIJ :)
That's right Northwell Health!
I interviewed for OR fellowship and yes they told me the starting date is Jan 25.
Are you also in the fellowship? Does the fact that I had second interview pretty much mean they will hire me or ... it could go either way?
I did the fellowship and love working at north shore :)
It could go either way. Once you get the third "interview" that means you're hired. BUT! Making it to the second interview is super tough. Not a lot of people get first interviews and of course less get second. You have a good shot but you never know! Don't worry about calling HR back or anything. Just send your thank you emails and wait patiently :). They hire all the fellows at once for all hospitals/units and they do it pretty quickly so they have a lot on their plate! But you'll definitely hear something soon
Good luck!!
Ok thank you for the info. What is the third interview? Also if they decide not to hire do they also let you know or most likely you won't hear anything at all?
Did they say what the schedule is like?
No they didn't just briefly that first couple months is class room and the rest 4 mo on the floor
The third interview is just an overview of the fellowship. You'll meet the director of the programs d others in fellowship. Its not really an interview for you but rather your chance to learn more about it and ask questions
I'm sure they'll let you know if you don't get hired.
As for the schedule, the first three months are basically Monday through Friday 8-5. After that it's a typical nursing schedule, whatever that may be for your unit
