If so, what department, what was your starting pay, how was/is the orientation period, and how do you like the job in itself? Thanks! I look foward to working there when I graduate in 2010:)
Hi Molly-FLHospital. I notice that you are very informative on the Graduate Nursing program through Florida Hospital. I am in my last semester of nursing at Seminole State College, and I am also working on my BSN at UCF through the SCC/UCF Concurrent Nursing program. I have been trying to get information about the Perinatal Nurse Internship but I have yet to hear back from anyone. I understand that applications are accepted only twice a year, and I was wondering when those dates were. Also, where do you obtain the applications? I have been on linktoyourfuture.com many times, however I can't find the information I need. Any information on Graduate Nursing positions or the Perinatal Nurse Intership would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

hi caylee,
congratulations on being so close to finishing your nursing degree! i know that the last florida hospital graduate nurse internship programs have been for critical care units, and i have not seen any perinatal internship openings recently. keep in mind the gn internship programs are opened by the units as needed.
at this time, the best information i can give you is to create a job alert for graduate nursing positions on the floridahospitalcareers.com website. that way, you will be emailed when positions are posted. you can only apply to posted positions.
i hope this helps and keep checking the website! thank you!
Hi Molly,
I would like to apply to the ED residency program when I graduate next year. I was wondering if the GPA would have an effect on being selected for the program and what is the recommended GPA to get into the FL Hospital residency program? I was told that I should work as a nurse tech or CNA to earn experience and facilitate finding a job, but being that I am trying to maintain a high GPA to get into a residency program, I feel that I should continue to maintain my GPA instead of working (and to actually comprehend what I am learning in school). I am taking online nursing courses with clinicals on the weekends and it is very challenging especially the workload (projects, VCE's, tests, quizzes, and care plans due every week) there isn't enough time to work and maintain a high GPA. Thanks for your help!
Hey everyone,
I'm from Orlando and went to school at UCF but I left town and am now thinking about moving back after getting some experience at Duke hospital. I have 3 years of experience now in the CT-ICU. Does anyone know what the base pay rate is like at FL hospital and ORMC for someone with a few years experience? Also I can't remember if they pay extra for ICU and for certifications i.e. CCRN, PCCN. Also, any extra with a BSN? Thanks!
Hi, Florida Hospital in Orlando pays 60 cents extra an hour for a bachelors degree. That's it and they don't pay anything extra for special certifications. I believe base pay with 3 years experience is is around $23.50 an hour.
I know Fl. Hospital Orlando is now hiring experienced nurses with I believe 2 years experience.
I had a friend who worked at Duke briefly and she was an excellent nurse. She was surprised at the difference between Duke and Fl. Hospital. I remember one thing she specifically was dismayed about was how the doctors at Duke treated her as a coworker and also were happy to teach the nurses and really engaged them. At Fl. Hospital she felt the MDs were very different. But I know she got an excellent education and experience at Duke.
I would love to hear how you feel about Duke and also when you come to Orlando the difference if any. Good luck.
Vindy, depending on the school you are attending, you may end up doing your clinicals at FH. That is a great way to meet staff and learn about the hospital system.
IHeartDukeCTICU, Florida Hospital's RN pay range is based on 0-19 years of experience. The base pay may seem low; however, shift differentials are pretty good. And, Preeps is right, FH is hiring experienced nurses, there are numerous openings in Critical Care.
Hi all just wondering if there is any news on any new RN positions at Florida Hospital or Orlando Health. I have looked at both websites and have yet to see anything. I have been working as a RN here in Tampa, FL but its home health. I have been an RN since January so still pretty new, want to get into a hospital, but haven't had any luck. Please help if you have any suggestions. Thanks

Hi,
I'm graduating in May and I'm moving down to the Orlando area. Does anyone work at Dr. Phillips? Is it a good hospital to work at? What is the orientation process like? Thanks!
