If anyone could help. I will be moving down to the charlotte NC area in a few months, (Indian trail, Matthews) does anyone know the RN hospital or nursing home salary down there? I am presently a med-surg RN in a community hospital on Long island in NY. Also have 20 years exp in a nursing home as an LPN and now an RN. I checked out calary.com but I'd rather hear from people who really live and work it, not probable staticstics. thanks

valerie..I do not know how much the salary is but I can almost guarantee you that you will not be making nearly what you are making now up north. Here in the south the pay is not even comparable usually. I know in my area of SC the RNs are starting at around 20.00 an hour and they wonder why they can not keep nurses here in the area. The cost of living is not any cheaper really. Food costs just as much even more sometimes. Sorry guess I am getting off on a rant...
