I'm interested in going back to school for LPN, but when I try to find schools in or around the Philadelphia area I keep getting the same answers. Every once in a while I'll come across a new school, so I know some of the sites aren't showing EVERY LPN school. Does anyone know of any??? Please let me know...thanks...

ErikaPa do u go to CAT? i am just wondering because iam also attending CAT. I just started in September. i am the newbie!

I am a newbie to the site. I have been in lurk mode for a year or so and found this site is very helpful with nursing information. I currently attend the Center for Arts and Technology in Coatesville and I would definitely recommend this school for anyone interested in becoming an LPN. I live in Delaware County and I commute everyday, but believe it is worth it. I will be done in March of 2009 and I can't wait. So if any of you interested and don't mind traveling, I tell you this school is worth it.

Hi! I just started Delaware County Vocational Technical School LPN program on Sept. 2nd and I LOVE IT!!! It's very intense and fast paced but the instructors are excellent and EVERYBODY my class is passing! They really teach you in a way that clear and precise.

It's located in Folcroft, PA and starts classes every September and February. It's closer to Northeast Philly than both CAT Coatesville and PIT in Media. Folcroft is not very far from the Phila. Intl. Airport so if you can get there you can definitely get to Folcroft! By the way, it's a full-time ONLY 11mth. program. Classes are from M-F, 8:15am-4:15pm everyday until you start clinicals, then it switches to M-W the same time and then Thurs. and Fri. 7:00am-2:00pm. Like I said before - it's pretty intense, but fun! They don't teach you in a way that'll have you scratching your head. It's roughly about $13,000 or so for the whole program but if you qualify for financial aid, a lot of the cost is covered under that not to mention you can get about $6000 in grant money from CareerLink so be sure to contact them if you decide to go to ANY LPN program.

I never thought I would see the day (at my age) when I could truly say "I LOVE SCHOOL!!!"

Hope this has been helpful. LMK if you need any other info.

The Center for Arts and Technology is just opening a new location in West Grove, PA....I think it opens in July...

hello, it is good to find someone else who is attending PITs LPN program. I am currently going through the application process now, with all hopes to be accepted and start January 2010. I was wondering if you could give me some information about the program, do you like it? How are the instructors? Clinicals? Is it really fast paced? How many students are in the program?

I had attended an RN program last year and it was nothing but a nigtmare. Instructors very unorganized, which left the students even more confused. Clinical was an absolute waste, I did not learn one thing, we sat in a room almost the whole time while the patients were eating / or attending PT.

So your input about PITs LPN program would be great. I am so excited I hope I get in!

Hi,

Did anyone attend or apply to Pennsylvania Institute of technology's LPN program? I took the TEAS test on Aug. 8th and they sent me a letter, basically saying I have moved on to the next step of the admissions process, but the program is competitive, so I'm not guaranteed into the program yet.

Hi K-Lynn, I am in the same boat as you..I am not able to private message on here, but if you want to send me your email address we can contact each other that way

Ok so I'm going to the prism career institute in northeast philadelphia. I start the end of october and I am so psyched. So far I've found everything to be pretty darn good. While I was there I talked to a few students and everyone seems to like it, so here is to hoping I do too. It seems like a pretty good school and is one of the few in the northeast. You can get financial aid which def. helps everyone. Anyone else going there? Love to get know someone who is or will be. :redbeathe

Mlclove - congratulations on getting accepted into Prism. I agree, Financial Aid is a big factor I considered when school searching, because it is a really big help. Good luck with everything!!
