Anyone know any LPN jobs in Edmonton?

Graduatedin BC on June and i just passed my CPNRE which was on sept.

Im on the process of transferring my license here in Edmonton. SO COMPLICATED THOU -.-

I moved in Edmonton 2 months ago and i still havent found any jobs here, -.-

In BC theres no jobs for lpns too -.-

Let's see you mailed in your application in during their busiest month of the year because that's when LPNs renew their permits in Alberta.

When I moved to BC it took the College there nearly four months to process mine.

To expect it in under a month during permit renewal and the Christmas/New Years break is a bit unrealistic. They have to contact CLPNBC to process the documents.

all the documents has been sent to CLPNA. Im just waiting for their assesment to be finish. So im just wondering how long would it take for the assessment to be done? is it weeks? how manys weeks?

I think it took about 6 weeks when I transferred from BC from Alberta. But it really varies from case to case and the time of year.

I made sure I had it BEFORE I moved.

Hi you're right. I just received the results today and took them exactly 6 weeks, got approved :)

Thank you everyone.

Now time to look for a job. Wishing I could get a job in a hospital. Any hospital here in Edmonton.

We've been warning people in various threads here for a year about the climate in AB. I hope you find a job too, but please know that there are few jobs in the cities compared to the volume of applicants. AB continues to face cuts. Be willing to relocate somewhere else in the Province if Edmonton doesn't pan out.

Just to give you an idea on how bad the job market in Alberta is for LPNs:

The CLPNA website has 2 jobs listed in Edmonton and 1 in Calgary. This is probably the fewest jobs I've ever seen listed on CLPNA.

AHS Edmonton has 26 jobs listed and Calgary 23. For all of Alberta there are 98 jobs listed, so obviously there are more jobs outside the major cities.

Search engine Indeed shows only a couple of jobs for Edmonton. These jobs are in LTC and homecare.

Definitely not a good time to be looking for a job in Edmonton or Calgary.

We recently moved to the edmonton area from BC for my husbands career. I started working as an LPN in 2009, and have nursing experience in LTC.... I have been applying for work in and around Edmonton since the beginning of November, and I have applied for everything!!!! Got two calls for casual positions both outside of edmonton, still waiting to hear back on one and waiting to interview for the second. It is slow out there, and many of the postings I have applied for back in november haven't been filled?!!

Anyways, just thought I would chime in to agree with everyone that there aren't that many opportunities. I also think most of AHS postings are probably filled internally?.. Of course I still apply to them anyways cause you never know....
