HI,
I am attending ualr and I heard that the va hospital has a scholarship program where you work 8 hrs. a week and they pay you for 40 if you agree to work for them. Do any arkansas nursing students or nurses know anything about this b/c I have so much to study for my classes I don't see how I am going to be able to work and go to school b/c this is getting way to stressful. Does anyone know of any good programs in arkansas that help pay for school.
Thanks.

Hi, I'm a student at UCA, starting the nursing school in this semester. I saw UAMS nursing scholarship on the wall. The deadline for spring semester is December 1. Hope you have a good semester!

UALR teamed up with SVI recently and offer to pay for school and work for them when you graduate.

Alot of hospitals have special student options, such as working 2- 12's on the weekend while going to school during week and getting more pay with a job contract. It's a good option if you already work for that hospital but not if you are undecided about a career.

I contact the VA a few months ago because I heard they had a similar scholarship and was told that they don't. They will pay for your school after you work for them a year, though. I'm also a UALR nursing student (1st year).
