brushing up on pathophysiology? I am a little rusty and would like to refresh my mind prior to starting in august...thanks in advance.

Specializes in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.

I bought a Lippincott book called "Straight A's in Anatomy & Physiology" and it is amazing. It's easy to read and it is also geared to helping you with the NCLEX.

They also make a version for Pedi, and OB. I also bought the OB book and I actually used that to study for my tests instead of the textbook and I did very well in the class. Hope that helps :nuke:

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

If you're looking to brush up on patho, I highly recommend the "Made Incredibly Easy" version. I bought it to supplement the textbook we use, and I probably use it as much in my studies. I think you'll like it.

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry, IV therapy, mgmt.

There are two books I use to help answer student questions of pathophysiology here on the allnurses forums:

  • Pathophysiology: A 2-in-1 Reference for Nurses by Springhouse, Springhouse Publishing Company Staff.
  • Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children, third edition, by Kathryn L. McCance and Sue E. Heuther. Currently in it's 5th edition of publication.
