I had the same problem my first rn semester. Ive overcome it by doing this. Highlight what is important/not a normal finding in the question. For example the vital signs, the lab work etc. Focus on what is GIVEN to you dont come up with what if scenarios. Imagine yourself working in the hospital and you have that "patient" in the hospital. What are you going to do for that patient AT THIS TIME? Remember ABCs and what the appropriate nursing interventions are. Hope this helps you best of luck.

I personally needed to do more reviewing for the NET because I had not done fractions in like FOREVER. Knowing this, I did what that guy did, asked my teacher friends for practice math and also bought the NET test prep book which I found to be really helpful. Reading Comprehension is easy for me so I really didnt spend too much time prepping for that section, but the prep book covers it pretty well. Good luck to you!!! :)

I have a co worker that is in the Bayonne Program in her last semester and she loves it. However, I do work in a hudson county hospital and have heard and read in the local newspaper that they are having financial difficulties-which is something to take into consideration. Holy Name Hospital is where my mother went to school and she still raves about it....20 years later. :) very competitive and does cost a lot, but I have heard great things about it, I did not apply there only because it is too much of a commute for me to go there. hope that helps you. good luck!

My advice, which worked for me in A&P I and II is to stay on top of your homework and reading assignments, be organized, ask questions, develop studying habits to help you retain information (index cards, watch topic related movies, study groups,etc). Good Luck to you!!

I too am not that good in math, knowing this and knowing that chemistry requires calculations, I immediately went to the tutoring center at my school in the beginning of the semester and found a chemistry tutor that fit my needs. I passed the class with a B, I dedicated the time to do well,practiced the review questions at the end of the chapter, asked questions-show the professor that you want to pass the class, show interest.
