Anyone know how to find telecommuting nurse positions?

Published

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I'm interested in learning about what kinds of telecommuting nurse jobs there are - and most importantly how to find these postings. I've had 5 yrs of acute physical rehabilitation nursing and am looking for new opportunities.

If anyone telecommutes I'd appreciate hearing the type of work you do, and how you made this transition.

Thank you!!:)

Where do you live? There are several positions currently posted with Aetna.

Specializes in Critical Care and ED.

I work in informatics and can work remote one day a week....they pay me very well and give me my own laptop. The rest of the time I come in to the office because we have meetings and have to sometimes work with our departments developing new documentation. I know of some consultants who can work remote full time but they are usually contracted by Epic. I kind of like coming in to my office. I have a lovely cubicle that has a nice view, a heated footrest, heated coffee cup holder and two big screens and an ergonomic chair. If I stayed home all the time I'd get too distracted. Best part is, when it snows, the whole office stays home, and I can choose my own hours...come in when I want, leave when I want and take a day off when I want. I've been treated better in this job than any other.

I live in the Bay Area, CA.

Is it pretty flexible going into the office? This is what I'm looking for. I'm ready to move from the bedside.
