Have you found a decent white fabric that's heavy enough to allow you to forego worrying about underclothing?
You could also try lightweight denim, which (in white) probably wouldn't look like "jean" and shouldn't be see-through!
I had the intention of sewing my own scrubs and using the money I'd save to buy a nicer lab coat, but when I priced fabric yesterday, I realized it would cost me more to make the scrubs than it would to buy the scrubs!

Wal*Mart has a ton of $2 a yard spring fabrics in. And JoAnn's - use that coupon!
:)
I don't want to wear pants. I like skirts, and I like the response patients give a nurse in a skirt. Esp. the oldies on the med ward.

Are you talking about the fabric a lot of folks use for quilting? I need solid navy blue only, but the $2 fabric I found was see-through! I'll look for Trigger next time...but what is the fabric content of the fabric you suggest from walmart? (Cotton/Poly?)
What do support hose do for your legs (beside support them , LOL) specifically, I am wondering about that "white hot pokers of fire" thing

Wal*Mart has two lines of solids that are always in, a cotton/poly blend at I think $1.79 a yard and a cotton at under $3 a yard.
Some of the $2 quilting cottons are really nice and others are really, well, cheap. And thin.

Walmart also has some good white pants that are like $10-12 & way cheaper than making. If you want a skirt have you thought about lining it in something like tricot or poly? You'd attach it only at the waist.
