I just wanted to see if anyone has heard from Deaconess regarding whether they were accepted or not for summer? I put my application in back in February and was told I would know something on Friday, April 1. I emailed the admissions rep, but still haven't heard anything. Anyone else in the same boat?
Thanks!

I am a little worried, first they let me know they didn't get my High School Transcript so I rushed them my copy, the last copy I had, I called back last week because I read here (on this site)that several other students had already heard back said they were accepted; they told me they were still waiting on the highschool transcript so I called my highschool again and again they express mailed another copy, I email the admissions office to make sure that the address we sent it to was ok but haven't heard back yet so I am sitting here on pens and needles to say the least! If I don't start the summer I hope that means that I start inthe fall ( Jan 2006) I am wondering if the delay is because of the buyout?
I hope we hear back soon
Carly,
I was told I had to have my transcripts in by March 19 and that it would take two weeks for an answer. I emailed the admissions lady after one week to see if she had heard anything because if I wanted to do my clinicals as a nurse extern, I had to have my application in to the program by today. Needless to say, I didn't make the deadline. If I am accepted, I'll have to find a different hospital site.
Anyway, she told me she would know something on the 1st. I already emailed her but she hasn't emailed back. Like you, I'm getting worried. I just wish they would tell me something regardless because I also applied and was accepted to two other lpn programs and one rn program. I need to place a deposit somewhere to hold a spot in the classroom. I prefer Deaconess because of the distance format, but I also have the option of a part time lpn program as well.
Good luck and let me know if you hear something. I'll do the same if I should get a response.
Take Care,
Marci

I called DCN today was told that they wouldn't know anything until after April 12th. I am starting to get a little concerned because of the other deadlines that you guys have mentioned that have come and gone.

I'm glad you mentioned that the date will be after April 12 now. I check the mailbox every day waiting for some type of response. Oh, well, I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed for each other.

One thing to note is that I applied a little late and maybe those who applied before me will get a response sooner...I don't know.:)
I sent another email today to the admissions rep. at Deaconess but still didn't receive a reply. Have any of you heard back yet or had your emails returned regarding admissions?
Thanks a bunch:)
I really can't phone or contact them again until after the 12th since that is when they told me they would have an answer. Since they haven't responded to your emails I would call them (admissions) and ask what is going on. I'm stunned that people who applied before the deadline still do not have an answer. I thought I had read somewhere here that prospective students usually find out two weeks after the deadline. Since I applied late I thought that was the reason for the delay.
Also, when I spoke with DCN the first week of March I was given a different deadline then you mention, infact I was told it was the next day. I had to get my highschool transcript sent from Canada and obviously wasn't able to make that deadline. My point is that there seems to be conflicting information given.
If you call let us know what happens. I spoke with Kristy so maybe a different person would have more info, maybe Scott Ragsdale?
Kelly:)

Hi ya'll.....
I too have submitted my last transcript to Deaconess (last documents needed), only to be told by the admission counselor (I won't say her name) that she has not received it. I sent it directly to her attention! :stone
She said that she'd call me back when she's received it. I guess, since she has not called back, she has not received it. I guess I'll have to send another one. :uhoh21:

I'm just curious, who did you send them to?:)
i sent you a private message with the name...i really don't want to call any names on a public message board.
Ok, I just got of the phone with the admissions lady at Deaconess and she said that the first "wave" of applicants were chosen already. I guess if you were in that group you would already know of your acceptance status. The second "wave" will be chosen on April 12. I'm not sure if they are waiting to see how many of the first group are going to come to Deaconess or not. I guess then maybe they would fill the empty spots with the second group? I'm not sure, that's just my imput.
Anyway, I have a bachelors degree in a non-health care field and I didn't make the first cut. I did, however, get accepted to three other nursing programs in my area, so I think I will probably just go and make a decision as to which one I will be attending and send my deposit now before it's too late and I don't have a spot anymore:(
Good luck to all of you and keep us posted as to your status:)
