  1. Thanks to all that replied....you're right, the waiting is the worst part.:uhoh21:
  2. Hi all.....ho hum.... it's been a while since i posted, but i come often to view the boards....i can always find comfort or reassurance on the allnurses board--so here goes. I took my nclex-pn exam this morning, and the test stopped at 85--somehow, i don't feel like i've passed the durned thing. i've been reviewing the saunders nclex review book/questions for the last 3 weeks--but the questions were nothing like the ones in the book...i received mostly meds or procedure questions--1 liners without much info provided in the question... i was just wondering if anyone has failed with stopping at 85... please help..i'm in serious pain..
  3. Thanks for responding. It's always good reinforcement to hear that others have plans similar to mine. : :)
  4. I hear a lot of talk about hospitals phasing out LPNs and LVN's in various areas of the country, so my question to new LPN students or new LPNs...do you plan to continue your education? I'm just curious..I plan to continue on, and have already received a call from Excelsior about the RN degree. I was told by one of the reps that I can start taking some of the classes required for the RN degree in December...even before I finish the LPN program locally in July 06. I definitely plan to continue on....seems like it's much easier to earn a higher degree these days. :rotfl:
  5. Thanks so much for sharing your experience... I really would like to hear about more successful stories like yours..
  6. I read the info about the LPN Okla degree, but the counselor (sorry did not get name due to being transferred 3 times) that I spoke to did not mention it..i even stated that i was from fl; however, he said that I'd have to come to Okla 1 Saturday in each of the 9 months. He was not really offering any additional info though...said that I should check back because they now have a new dean...and she's coming up will all sorts of new programs ...Maybe you could call to find out more info. As far as the reqs, the prereqs are typical of any RN program--you'd be earning a BSN from the school...which is far more advanced.
  7. Thanks so much for the info Cheri....this is just what I need!!! Not only is it 9 months, but it also allows LPN students to earn the BSN degree.
  8. Into the local LPN program...but.....as you know, I really wanted to do deaconess online..... :rotfl: I have so many different emotions running right now! I'm happy anxious and a little afraid all at the same time. I've just been accepted into the local program in my area. We will start the first day of class on Aug 16th and will graduate on July 12th (got this from info session on Saturday). I'm afraid because I have to quit my comp tech (40,000 per year --took 6 years to get to this amount with a MS in info studies) job for the 11 months and work as a CNA; however, I'm looking towards the future and the many possibilities that nursing offers. The nursing field will offer so much more that what I'm getting now.... and I'll be able to incorporate the technical knowledge into the medical field.... I'm excited by scared. Any thoughts on this...please!
  9. I read up on this program, and it sounds like a good one...except..the trips to Minnesota! The face to face meeting are per class and are spaced out over the semester approximately 2 days each trip, so a ten day eval on campus may equal 5 trips to Minne.. too much $$ and too much traveling from FL...Deaconess is still the best route for me...I was told that I sent my paperwork too late for the Sum class; however, if they get the additional spots (not looking good according to my advisor), I'd be one of the first on the list..
  10. Just curious...which program in Minnesota?
  11. I posted on the other thread, but still...it doesn't hurt to say it again... whooo hoooo congrats :balloons:
  12. YEAAAAAAAAA Kelly..... Way to go... Good luck...you can do it.
  13. :balloons: Congrats............ woo hoo I'm so happy for you! You are going to be one of the best!!
  14. I haven't heard anything, and I'm afraid to call... :uhoh21:
  15. I don't know, but they probably will tell us if we don't make the cut.
