I know what you mean, I was literally shaking while I was opening my envelope from MHCC...although I knew I got in based on the thickness of the envelope.

Congrats to everyone that was accepted to CCC! (and everywhere else for that matter!)

I got my acceptance letter from CCC today. I was happy but I already got my MHCC letter to start this FALL:clown: and the Bruning Center is only a few miles from my house. I know from reading a lot of posts that many of you are wanting CCC due to it's proximity to your places so there's one alternate out there who will be getting my slot.

Can't wait to meet those of you out there going to MHCC and for those who didn't get it this year, it took me 3 tries to finally get that lovely letter, so don't ever give up, apply everywhere and re-take any classes you possibly can to get an "A" so you can raise your GPA, I got mine up to a 3.85. (I got B's in my English classes-I like reading waaaay more than writing)

The good thing about it taking a while to get in is that you can end up getting a lot of non-nursing specific classes out of the way which will give you more time to focus on the nursing classes.

Yeah I got an acceptance letter today as well! But as you can probably tell I'll be declining my offer. It made for a less stressful letter opening ceremony. No break for me though, I start school in 2 weeks with no break for 18 months. Our interviewers did say the go fairly deep into alternate pool - so hang in there alternates.

Congrats to everyone who made it. Now get off this board and go celebrate!

No time to celebrate:no:

Must figure out how to pay for school, what I need for school, can I work on my Mac instead of buying a PC laptop, figure out if I should still work during school. See....there is so much stressing to do, no time to waste.

But......I really could go for a little glass of bubbly. What the hell, make it a bottle. Is there a forum rule of drinking and posting?:smokin:

Oh, I'm not giving up. I shouldn't be a nurse if I would quit that easily. Right after getting my letter I went to CCC to sign up for the CNA program. I already figured out how to increase my points by at least 7 in one term. I'm going to Mexico this summer so I'm happy. :D

The newer Macs run windows too. I know Clackamas is pretty windoze centric which is sad.

To run windows on your mac you need an intel mac, Fusion and a copy of windows.

The Apple stores can hep you too....

Good for you!!! Make sure to finish Micro too. I've heard that next year they will give discretionary points for that (as MHCC did this year). Also, try to work for a CCC clinical site...Providence Elder Care is often hiring CNA's;)

Mexico.....JEALOUS!!! Have fun anyway......without me!:clown:

I think I'm going to have to break down and buy a Macbook Pro. I just don't think I can bring myself to buying a PC. It's just....wrong! My Macbook right now is great, but I need lots more memory and I want to be able to run Vista.

Good lord, you sound like me. I was so completely stressed last week, worrying about how this is all going to work out financially. My husband thinks I'm nuts.

Congratulations to everyone who got in to school. I had orientation at PCC today, was a lot of information to take in, but I am defiantly excited to get started.

Macs are just fine at CCC...several of us have them. Almost all of your logistical questions will be answered at orientation.

The exciting thing is that we're going to be at the new building at the Harmony Campus....brand new, more room, brand new lab, which the faculty is very excited about.

Michael...
