Nurses Men
Published Jul 4, 2005
After I get through school I have to spend a year in a trauma setting to get experience as an RN. Then I can enter into the 27 month fun of Nursing Anesthesia. Anyone been or have any advice about the difficulty of the courses involved. Thanks

I have taken Gen chem 1,2, and 3 and organic 1 and 2. Is that enough chemistry?

I'd say it's more than enough.

Yes you do, and I hope to earn the AOC 66F very soon [not soon enough, though].
I've applied for the US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing at the AMEDD Center & School , San Antonio, TX [June 2006 Class]. I will find out in November if I'm accepted. My GRE scores were low, however I have a 3.8 GPA, accepted direct commission, 1LT, USAR Nurse Corps in 2003, and I'm a USMC Veteran. I've been an RN since 1998 [ADN], and BSN since August 2004. My Primary AOC 66E & Secondary 66H, however I've been working on 2N/SICU at BAMC on my drill weekends [new terminology is; battle assembly ] w/the 5501st USAH.
BTW, do you know MAJ Jim Reed, AN 66F, or MAJ Don Miller, AN 66F (Ret.)?
So, to answer the original Thread question... yes, I'm in hot pursuit of an MSN.

Yes, it is written in code; The Army Commissioned Officer Classification System code. More specifically, the Army Branch 66 Army Nurse Corps/AOC structure.

I will be starting an Accelerated Master's program in May. It's not a MSN though. After a year of ICU experience I plan on attending a CRNA program at UC or MTSA. That one will be a MSN.
