Anyone going to LCCC?

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I see that this college hasn't been mentioned here and I'm just wondering if anyone has gone or is looking to go to Luzerne County Community College? I'm already a student there and I'm just 3 or 4 classes shy of getting my business administration degree, however, I'm changing my curriculum (believe me, I WILL complete the business degree, I will graduate with 2 degrees) and I'm hoping to get accepted into the Nursing program, I'm just waiting to receive my letter in the mail to tell me which date I take the NET on :nuke:

Oop, I should mention I'm applying for Fall 2009 and I already have most of my general classes taken. By the time fall comes the only general ones I'll need for the nursing sequence is Micro and A & P 2

I was about to attend LCCC last year but instead I enrolled into the college network to finish my gen ed's.

What is the college network?

They have Top Educators from some of the nation's best colleges and universities that author study guides which enable you to take one multiple choice exam per course which they specifically prepare you for and it's guaranteed!

It's easy and works for me b/c I work full time and have children. There is no time limit for me to complete a course. I can do it as fast or as slow as I want. I sure don't have to purchase numerous textbooks and write papers and whatnot.

And that's just for general courses you said right? I'm pretty sure that's what you were saying because I don't see how you could do that and get a nursing degree lol, so yeah.

LOL, yea for the general ed courses. After completing them they are transferred into the college and you then complete the remaining credits for the degree. It really cuts down on the cost and time

Sounds great, will you be starting the program in the fall?

I'll be starting before the fall actually! I only have 2 more courses to complete and then I can go and take my clinicals. I plan on working by summer

Starting at LCCC? I will be starting there in the fall too, maybe I'll see you around? I'm taking 2 summer classes this summer to finish up my general courses before I start & also I will be taking a Medical Terminology class so I will have a head start.

Actually I will be completing my degree through Excelsior College. Good Luck

Oh okay, good luck! & Thank you!

Hi People,

I am attending at the Susq. branch. I'm hoping to be accepted into the 2010 Fall Nursing Program after I take/pass the NET. My general classes are completed except for Chemistry, CPR, and General Psychology. I'm taking the first two this Summer Semester and Psychology in the Fall of this year.

My general classes will be out of the way, but I've run into a problem with Financial Aid. My loan will be stopped and I will have to begin repaying after my grace period ends, all because I won't have enough classes to take until the Nursing Program starts up next year. That burdens me. Has anyone else run across this situation themselves? If so, what do you suggest doing?

Also, I'd like to know what to expect from L.C.C.C.s Nursing curriculum at Elk Lake. I hear it might be military style teaching. That's quite intimidating.

Pretty much all of LCCC's branches are boot camp like from what I hear... It is a great program there if you are committed.

If not enough classes is a problem, can you take some classes you dont need, but interest you just so you have enough credits?

Yes, I have thought of that too. I just think it is silly to have to take and pay for classes that I don't need.

Any suggestions for getting through the NET or the Nursing Program there?
