Anyone Enrolled at Robert Ross (IUON) International University of Nursing

Published

Hello,

If someone is enrolled at the Robert Ross International University of Nursing at St. Kitts of the Carribean Islands, I would like to hear from you.

I'm interested in the school since it has "No Waiting List" for a 21 month Nursing Associate Degree program. I would like some feedback on your impression and/or personal experience at this private university (www.iuon.org).

Sincerely,

"Sherrylee"

Hi!! I live in CA too and just found out I got accepted into CSUSM BSN-RN program and I am torn between going to St. Kitts or Cal-state. Any feedback or advice you have, would be awesome!! Thank you so much!

Sincerely, Renee

I have been accepted into IUON. I will be going in January if all is well. If anyone is attending the University or will be attending the University or have already graduated from the university.....PLEAASSSEEEEE WRITE BACK. This is a major decision that I am facing and I am extremely stressed out.

Hi Sherrylee,

How are you? I'm attending the BSN this coming Spring 2009 at IUON, are you already there? What are your experiences there?

It is hard to find a housing or roommate there?

What do we expect there at IUON St. Kitts?

Please let me know. My email address is: [email protected]

Thanks.

James

YES! THIS IS A MAJOR DECISION TOO!

I read your concern at Allnurses.com. I'm James and I was accepted for BSN program at IUON - St. Kitts last semester 2008 and supposed to be there but I deferred it for some reason, and I do have a mixed feeling whether to atted there this coming Spring 2009?

Please email me at [email protected] or give call me at (916) 595 6082, maybe we discussed things so that our stressed and doubts will be over.

Thank you.

I also was supposed to attend in September, but deferred until Jan 2009. I am still not sure if I am going.

It sounds good, but I have read so many things here, that I am hesitant to go. I am waiting to hear from a couple local schools and then I will make my decision.

Has anyone talked directly to anyone who has attended?

Its funny, I not to long ago read a thread on this same school from a student who in the program/graduated something of that nature. Posted this back in septermber maybe you should try to PM this person. Good Luck

I have read numerous replies or postings about IUON, in some truth I can agree and disagree to their statements. The school is not expensive but in the long run with plane fairs, school supplies, fees, groceries and everything else it may add up to 100K in debt ( who knows ). On the lighter note, which ever state you are in (after the long application to work in your state ) the hospital you wish to work at may pay your debt if you sign a contract with that hospital and work XX amount of years. This is from word of mouth from several nurses as well as googling around forums - please check it up yourself, do not take my word for it. The way I see this, I rather be in debt and pay if off slowly once I accomplish my short term goal ( being a RN holding a Bachelor's Degree ), rather than working a starting salary of 35-42k or being a fry cook. Forget that junk, I'm optimistic so I understand the school is fairly new and still in the process - deal with it. It's a chance to take - if you can not get into schools in your state or within the US, IUON may be your only hope. I will be attending in January 2009, if you are going - hope to get to know you soon or on the island. FOCUS on schooling not baking in the sun you tards ! As someone have mention, this is a professional career and if you screw up, no one to blame but yourself - in the mean time I will party hard on the island when time does permit, otherwise I will sleep in the library with textbook marks across my face =). FYI - if anyone does live in NY, one school I was planning to apply ( NEW YORK UNIVERSITY ) a semester is about 25K or ( LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY ) is a solid 32K roughly estimating on tutition alone. So yeah.....anyone want to argue on that??

Yes j13,

I would be very interested in talking with you.

1) Were you able to get certified by the BRN and working as a CA RN?

2) Was it difficult?

3) What are rents like on St. Kitts.

Hello,

I have just been accepted into IUON for May '09 semester. Anyone have any advice? Or know anyone who is looking for a roommate on the island?

I DO NOT recommend IUON. Stay on US soil. The school is poorly ran and they are just out to get your money but they don't care about the quality of your education. They are not accredited by any US body. Partner schools still ironing out wrinkles for the BSN program. Poorly ran administration department also. Trying to get a transcript from them is very hard. Webpage looks promising but it's a front. Not worth it at all. You'll have to study so hard for the NCLEX as the program will not prepare you.

please let me know if if its good to bring your kids there

If you graduated...are you currently employed as a licensed RN?
