I am just curious if anyone in CA took their NCLEX around the 23rd of March and is still waiting for their results, I know the average wait time is 2-4 weeks but now I am hearing it may actually take longer than that because the state is behind. Has anyone called the board to see what week they are working on lately?
So I called the BON today and they said that they were working on March 18th's results! RIDICULOUS! My friend called Monday and they said that they were working on March 17th's results, so basically it has taken them a WHOLE week to do march 17th, I took my exam on the 23rd (31 days ago) so I asked if I can expect my results next week and she said ummm hopefully, not very promising. I hate CA, what a ridiculous process. I graduated in Jan so I really won't have my license till June cause it takes 4 weeks for them to send my license after recieving my money, So 6 months after graduation I will hopefully have my license, No wonder there is a nursing shortage.
So I called the BVNPT and they said that they are still working on the 18th and the reason for that is there are only 2 people who work in the dept that deals with NCLEX results and that one of those 2 people are on vacation, so there is only 1 person working on the results. I got an email back from the program mgr explaing that there is a surge of people taking the NCLEX right now and due to budget cuts they dont have the funds to hire someone to help with the large amount of people taking the exam. I am so frustrated, it has been 35 days for me, the email from the mgr said that results for the 23rd of march will be mailed out sometime this week, but if last week was any example of this week I doubt that, it took them all week to do the 17th's results and to begin on the 18th's. We will see......

So if they are still working on 18th results, how are they going to be able to mail out the results from the 23rd this week? Seem's like a stretch to me.
I just took my Nclex-pn today. It cut off at 85. I had 12 SATA. I thought I did good at first but who knows So I read thru this forum and I'm trying to figure out how long I can expect to wait. The test center told me 4 weeks but on here I'm seeing 5-6+ How long can I expect and what's the soonest I can find myself on the cali VN webpage assuming I passed? I'm so nervous!
ps. i took it in san diego
I took mine 3/31 and I am still wondering why the board for CA LVNs takes this long compared to every other board in the nation! I graduated back in Dec, my school took a month to send our papers, the board took 2 months to process them, I took 2 weeks extra to study and now I have to wait almost a month and a half to find out if I passed? Then I have to send back the money and wait another half a month or more just to get the license? Might as well have just went into an RN program at this rate! Unbelievable!
I said the same thing about the RN program today, It is crazy, you really cant work for at least 6 months after graduating. Very frustrating, and the thing I dont understand is if the BVNPT knew that this time of year was a busy time due to all of the graduates in January then why would they let one of their two employees working in the dept of NCLEX results go on vacation during this busy time, makes no sense. It's like someone working retail taking off the week before Christmas, unacceptable. Our lives are on hold while the employees of the BVNPT go on vacation. :angryfire
It's ridiculous that they only have 2 people working in the dept of NCLEX results for all of CA! Heck if they can't afford another employee I'm sure they could find many people who would be willing to volunteer their time to help with their burden! A person really shouldn't have to wait more than 2 weeks especially with the way the economy is going these days. At least give quick results...
