Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Hello! I'm thinking of taking the pediatric CCRN. Are the highly recommended DVD's and test review books appropriate for the pediatric CCRN? Has anyone taken the Pediatric CCRN? I was going to order the DVD's but want a little more info before I invest.
Thanks for the inspiration and the information

I'm still trying to study. I had lost my motivation over the past few months...I'm afraid to retake the practice CD exam because I might start to memorize the questions and get them right for the wrong reasons...
But, I still have a date of mid June to take the test, so I best start re-watching the tapes.
Laura is coming to Vegas in June or July! I wonder if I should go see her....maybe she will motivate me, lol!
Hi My Friend! I have been wondering about you! As the above poster said it is the rationales that are important. And if you get a few right for the 'wrong' reasons...I think that is OK!! Especially since I think it is totally unfair that they put those 25 very hard questions in the exam....
I would definitely go see Dr Laura if I were you!! You should tell her about this thread! I wonder if she already knows about it, it wouldn't surprise me.... what a character!!!
I hope all is well. Go for it, take it in June, you will be so glad when you get that CCRN!!!

Hi RaggedyRN!!! I am so glad that you posted here and hopefully you will get a response from someone who knows about the peds test. Unfortunately, I do not. Perhaps you should start a new thread in the peds area and see if there is anyone else studying, many times others who already have the certification will post as well to offer support.
I wish you well! I just started learning peds as part of a new ED job I took a few months ago! Phew, it is an ENTIRELY different world, I admire your ability in that area, especially PICU!!
Good luck finding the information you seek!!

Ugh.Looks like I've got some work to do...
I got a 60%. :uhoh21::uhoh21:
Well, I took the test cold. I can do better.
Took the test again today, and well...it looks like I don't have to worry about accidently memorizing the questions, lol.
I got a 65%. Which is better than last time, who hoo! But still, I've got a lot to study.
I got 50% of the cardiac questions wrong.
Actually, I did well on almost everything else. So how ironic, I, cardiacRN has to really crack down and study cardiac.
Off to revisit Laura's tapes.

Don't forget about that pacep.org site. Have you gone through that one a time or two? You are probably overthinking your specialty, cardiac, that would be my guess! You are going to do fine.... just get fine-tune those picky cardiac questions, it is the hardest part of the exam.
YOu can do it!!!! :yeah:

I was afraid of the same thing, but I find that reading all the rationales help me to learn, so it's okay if you memorize as long as you know the rationales behind the answers as well
Best of luck to you!
