Anyone else being GPS tracked?

Nurses Recovery

Published

I am in Indiana and a new company just took over our monitoring program. We were sent an email last week that effective immediately we were to start using the GPS tool on our monitoring app to check at a meeting (NA, AA, NSG) and starting soon there would be a check out button as well. How in the world is this legal?? I feel like this is invasion of privacy and so does my counselor! I voluntarily signed up for this crap but I have not given permission to be tracked!

Specializes in FLOAT RN I DID IT ALL EXCEPT DELIVERY AND OR.

only a matter of time before FL starts this!

Has anyone EVER had to.go to an INPATIENT 3 day eval. with a lie detector test? In.AL.? I finished IOP, ALL MY TESTS WERE NEGATIVE before IOP and during etc. I was told  because I wouldn't admit I have a problem I had to stay.2 more weeks.  I again tested negative all tests.  Ipn told me I had to do this 3 day thing with lie detector!  Like im lying about not having an addiction, now they want to prove I'm crazy?

HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING AWAY WITH THESE ABUSES? And they say none of this is "punitive"?  I got a 5 yr contract, 1 yr key rest. and I never had a positive test!  The heroin/ dui / hot mess nurse I met in IOP got 2 yr contract and NO key restriction.  WTH

@NuRsE ReScUe that’s one of the more insane things I’ve heard. A lie detector!? Is there no depths that these people can reach without hitting an ethical bottom? Ridiculous. I’d want to know from a licensing attorney what sort of rights this program has to demand something like that and if taking it is in your best interested or if you should fight it. Of course I’m not saying I think you are guilty of what they are alleging but wondering if it’s worth it to fight them on it or just get the show on the road. I mean, lie detectors aren’t even admissible in court for goodness sakes.
