Tick tock tick tock... I'm dying to hear back. *taps foot*
Hey 2brg8nurse,
I too applied for the sutter extended program in Fall '09 and didn't get in. I submitted my app. for fall 2010 and am hoping to get in. I believe our chances are pretty good! Also, we have to take in account the fact that a few people probably have gotten into other programs since then, which would increase our chances even more:yeah:. Good luck! I have already been accepted to Samuel Merritt's ABSN fall 2010 program, but sutter's is much more economically friendly. LOL!
Hey jess6,
Based on your experience in the sutter program do you think it is possible to work atleast part-time and be in the program? Also, could you tell me what a typical week was like for you. scheduled days and times. Thanks in advance for any info. I am currently working and hope I could atleast continue part time.
Lots of students successfully worked part time. The official recommendation is no more than 20 hours of work per week.
The exact schedule varied by semester, but generally we had Mondays off (except 1 or 2 Mondays per semester) , at least half a day of class Tuesday, half a day of class on Wednesday then clinical prep in the afternoon, and clinicals Thursday and Friday (some groups had prep Friday, and clinicals Saturday and Sunday). Most clinicals are approximately 6:45am-2pm, but there were generally some evenings groups, too.
Hey Rohinson- Our letter says that we will be notified by email by no later than July 30th, which means we'll probably know before then. I can't wait to hear. Even an alternate spot would be great, because I think they often times get in. I was also a flat out no last time so I don't know why they don't like me, but hopefully this time they will. It would be really great to get through school for free and then be able to go further if we want a BSN or MSN. I live in Woodland and I actually have three kids so I'm pretty much stuck with going to a nursing program in the Sacramento area. I wish I could move and do it, because it seems like it's a lot easier getting in anywhere but here. Let me know as soon as you hear anything and I'll do the same.

My class started with 50 students. There were also 10-15 alternates, and I believe they all got in - Sutter required a response before Sac State sent out their acceptance letters, so people ended up going to Sac State instead.
