Just curious who else has applied for the Spring 06? I heard there were 298 apps which is better than Fall with 392 (I think).

I went to school in california, and they allowed me to take those classes, and bio 189 was not a pre-req... Sorry dont know the class numbers here in vegas, but what is bio 130 or 190?

130 and 190 are basically the same as 189. 130 doesn't have a lab, 190 does. I believe they are the same material. They have done away with both of those courses in the college system and have replaced them with 189. In the Nevada College system, for the nursing degree, you have to take 189. I would definately call the Health Degree Department at the college and talk to Debbie Britt. She can probably straighten this out for you, on what to do. I don't even know if you can apply for the Nursing Program without having completed it. Oh, but the good news is that the next application process begins towards the end of Spring semester. You will have it completed by their completion date of June 1st, so APPLY! Since you already have the other courses done, you have a pretty good chance of getting accepted. Go to the CCSN website here... http://www.ccsn.nevada.edu/health/adn.htm

this gives a lot of info, pretty much everything you need to know.

Good luck!

Lisa,

Hi, I'm Katie. I am at CCSN hoping to get into Spring 07 RN program...sounds SOOO far away!!! Anyhow I just wanted to wish you luck on your admission. Your points look awesome!!! I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Do you have any advice on good Biol 223 profs or who to stay away from?

Thanks,

Katie

We are not supposed to list profs here, so look for my PM. Thanks for the well wishes! They still haven't called though:o

How are things going for you? Which LTC are you doing your clinicals at?

Thanks again and welcome to Allnurses! It's great here, quite addicting, and there are a few of our fellow classmates here too!

Lisa

Sorry about the late reply. I am SO busy as you can tell so finding time to get on this website is rare. Things are going well and the teachers are great! I did my LTC and now my acute care at Lifecare on vegas and jones. It is a decent facility. Actually the nicest smelling LTC I have been in. The nurses are nice there and helpful.

Let me know when you get your letter and if you have any questions when you start let me know!

Thanks! Isn't it great that this semester is almost over?! When I went to Micro on Wednesday, the parking lot was empty! Then I realized it was the last day to drop with a W.

I know they call before they send out the letters, so I'll be sittin' by the phone next week!

Good luck on Finals!

Lisa

Lisa,

It IS nice to finally not to have to search for parking!

They didn't call me before the letter. Some people they called and some didn't get called. I am really excited for you!

Good Luck!

Well, I got my letter on Friday! No phone call.

I found out that the lowest points were 14 and the highest was 30 (gosh!). I should get my packet of "stuff" tomorrow, telling me that I will be spending my Christmas vacation doing the "stuff"! That's ok, I'm ready.

Good luck to all on your finals! Please PM me ASAP if you have any recommendations on lab/clinical instructors.

thanks

Congrats!

There are such few spots in the part-time available, so good job!

See you at orientation! I got my stuff in the mail yesterday about the TWO orientations. The first one is over 6 hours long! Also, we need to get started on the HepB vaccinations since they are in a series and the 1st two need to be completed by Jan 18th. I believe there is a one month spread between injection #1 and getting injection #2.

See ya there!

I know that 16 people got into the part time program but do you know how many applied?

I volunteer at St. Rose and I have heard rumor that they will give me my injections. I will find out tomorrow when I go in. Other than that, for cash, I would try the health dept.

I believe 44 applied. I know it was in the 40's. I'm too lazy right now to go get my Micro notebook out of my car, which is where I have the numbers written down. I will let you know.

Lots of shots. Ouch. Not looking forward to the tenorifice.

I have 8 credits to take during my first semester by classes are all at night and my clinicals are done on saturdays. I wonder if I can still maintain the hours at my job during that time frame

Has anyone else did the part time track and have to work full time also?
