hello!
I just finished applying to the Accelerated BSN program at TCU. You will get your RN/BSN in 15 months. That's about the fastet thing I can think of, lol. Go to www.hsn.tcu.edu I hope this helps, let me know what you think, and i'll try to remember to post if I get in!

Hi Polska! I am also changing careers and going into nursing. There are 3 different area schools to choose from. All being 2 year ADN programs. 1) El Centro in Dallas 2) Brookhaven in Carrollton 3) Collin County Community College in McKinney.
I am planning to apply in the Fall of 2007 after I retake some pre-reqs that I didn't do well on with my first degree (Graphic Design). I will be 30 this year and am married and have a two year old. I'm giving myself 3 years to get my prereqs and non-nursing classes completed and also to pay off my credit card debt and auto loans. Then maybe I can afford to go back to school.
Good luck to you!

Hi Polska,
I too am in the Dallas area and am interested in pursuing a second degree in nursing. I have a BS in Biology and have looked at several of the programs in DFW. I am actually a new mom, but would like to have another child within a few years and kinda like you, I am interested in getting a degree in nursing and my career started as soon as possible. That's why I decided that an ADN program would be best for my situation because of time and financial situation. Also, if u are interested in furthering your studies and pursuing an MSN later, I found out that if you already have a Bachelor's degree and are an RN, you may do so at Baylor's nursing school in Dallas. I plan to apply to El Centro's ADN program in Dallas and Collin County Community College's program in Mckinney for Spring 2007. However, as a previous poster mentioned, if you already have a bachelor's and don't want to go the Associates degree route there is the Accelerated BSN program at TCU which may require you to take more pre-reqs (than an ADN program) if you don't already have them. But it all depends on your particular situation. Good luck in whatever you do!
Here is another option:
There is a BSN and ADN option. This is not an accelarated program, but it is self-paced.
