Anyone attending or taken the Accelerated BSN at Concordia in Irvine?

Just wondering if anyone has taken this 12month program? Seems like a decent alternative to Mt. St. Mary's and CSUN as this is right here in Orange County.

I just dropped of my app for the Summer 2011 cohort for Concordia's Accelerated BSN Program. After reading through all 160+ messages I have a mix of nervousness & excitement. Excitement because the program sounds fantastic! Nervousness because I have 2 pre-reqs in progress and I am not sure if my overall GPA is good enough, 3.2 undergrad, 3.95 postgrad, 4.0 pre-reqs (w/Micro & Phys in progress). I have also just recently begun interning at a hospital so my healthcare experience is minimal. I'd be interested to hear from current students (and those that didn't get in, but got to the interview process) what they felt were the 2-3 biggest factors in determining their admission into the program. Thanks!

I also just dropped off my application for Summer 2011. I am currently in Physiology, so I hope that doesn't hurt my chances too much. Grades are in the 3.5 range for GPA, 3.7 range for Pre-req GPA and I have nearly 2 years of volunteer experience at Mission Hospital. Fingers Crossed!!! Anyone Else apply for summer 2011?

Hey All!

I'm new to this site but have been lurking for a while. I've also applied to Concordia's BSN program for this Summer 2011. I hand delivered my application and received the confirmation e-mail from Henny stating that they received my application and that it's now under review by the Admission Committee. I currently have 2 classes in progress as well (Microbiology and Anatomy) and I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten accepted with classes in progress? The e-mail I got from Henny said that decision letters would be sent out in April, but I knew there were interviews beforehand so I asked her about it and she said that they are tentatively scheduled for the third week of March. Has anyone heard about an interview yet? Good luck to you all :up: and hopefully we can all get accepted :yeah:

I'm feeling the same way. I have been trying not to think about the time between the application deadline and interviews. Ahhh! Good luck to us all. Let's keep posting so we know when interview invites occur.

I'm just getting so anxious to hopefully get an interview. And I'm wondering how much notice you'll get before the interview? Like would they let you know a week ahead or longer? I mean March is already on Tuesday and I'm hoping to hear something soon. If anyone hears anything definitely post it so we can all have a heads up.

No Psych_to_Nurse I haven't heard anything yet and it's driving me crazy :uhoh3:! Interviews are supposedly this month and I'm wondering how far in advance they will ask people to interview? I'm really really hoping I get an interview. Anyone else heard anything? Would we be able to start a new thread for people who are applying for this summer possibly? There are so many pages on this thread! If anyone hears anything make sure to post it please.:)

Thanks for starting the new thread! I'm new to the website so I can't seem to find it :(...by any chance can you send a link? Thanks! I submitted my application for the ABSN 2011 cohort on January 31st so I'm hoping they didn't overlook it because it was right before the deadline. Let us know when you guys hear about interviews, cuz the wait is driving me crazy!
