Just wondering if anyone out here is attending OC for nursing? I'm attending right now for my pre-reqs and would just like to know if anyone is working on their degree here? Any input or advice is appreciated!

Probably -- I'll get the word sometime in June (crosses fingers).
Well I wish you luck! Are you hoping to enter NS in Sep this year?
Yes. I'm pretty sure I'm in. I'm just anxious to get started (and finished).
My input: The program is already tough to get into and appears to be getting more difficult every year. No one is going to do you any favors. All the science profs are good people.
My advice: Register for classes early. Micro in particular fills up fast. No micro means no nursing program. Also, apply even if you don't think you'll be accepted so you can get that "rollover" point the next year. And it's never to early to start looking at the classes you'll need for the RN-BSN program, if you're interested in going that far.
Good luck!
Thanks for the tips. I just attended the information session last friday. It is going to be a tough year for pre-reqs but I'm pretty excited. I am starting with Chem 121 this summer...ouch. LOL.

I am a nursing student at OC. I didn't want to wait forever to get into the ADN program so I started my prereqs and applied to the LPN program while working on the RN prereqs. I am about to finish the LPN to RN bridge program. This worked well for me, there are pro's and con's. Either way good luck.

Hey, Candiceena, who did you take for Chem and how did you like it? I took Flowers, and he was good (although not easy!).

I just graduated from oc nursing program....my advice is to be really organized...manage your time wisely, be able to be flexible- everything is subject to change-so for those of who are parents, ...make sure you have dependable daycare or babysitters who are flexible also...practice dosage calculations from the easy to the most difficult ones......join a study group...go to every available open lab.....and communicate with your instructors... they want you to be successful and they are there for you....remember time flies you'll be graduating before you know it and ready to take the boards..so good luck and remember you can do this...just remember to take time for yourself once in a while--celebrate after passing a test with an apple martini..or a big slice of cheescake...
I just graduated as well. I agree with Neeni1. They throw the F word around a lot...Flexible. It will be over before you know it, just figure out how to balance family and other obligations with school and you should do well.

I'm attending an OC Nursing Program Information session tomorrow and I'm going to be back at Olympic College after a long hiatus this fall to do my pre-reqs and hopefully get into the program next summer. I'm excited, anxious, happy, nervous, and eager!:nuke:
I'm signed up for Flowers for Chemistry and I'm taking a refresher of Math 99 because I took it about 7 years ago. My math teacher is Robertson. Does anyone know much about these two professors?

I have applied to the ADN program. Does anyone know how many of the 13 points you need to get into the program?
