I am applying by February 2011 to be accepted and start the the nursing program in Fall of 2011 at the University of Memphis. Is there anyone else applying for next Fall? If so, I would love to talk to you and have someone else to share the nerves with! Thanks.

Hey Koster, thanks for your reply. I called in LSON, and it was all good. I'm just wondering, would it also affect my chances of getting accepted if I still have 5 gen. ed. courses left? Anyone? I am so anxious about this!

I think that provided you have them all finished by the time the Fall semester starts, you would be fine.

I think as long as you have them completed by Fall 2011 you should be okay. All I lack is Spanish II to get into the program so I am currently taking it. She told me as long as I have it finished before this fall then I am okay. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an acceptance/rejection letter? I am SOOOO nervous!! :)

Koster22--Yay! Let me know when you find out. Fingers crossed! I feel like I have been waiting FORRRREVER! :)

Hayleyh31--You should get in NO problem!

I will let everyone know when I get in! Trust me! I am so nervous. I wonder how long before we find out one way or another. Hopefully not long. Good luck to everyone.:D

I meant to say IF* I get in, not when. Haha I wish I were that confident.

hey everybody! i also applied for fall 2011 and i'm so nervous. i did really well on the teas and my gpa should be fine, but my pre-req gpa is less than required. they called today to tell me so, and to tell me that i can retake one of the classes i got a C in over the summer and i'd be fine. do yall think this will keep me out of the program? or is it a good sign that they called to give me a heads up? thanks guys and good luck! :)

I think that is an awesome sign that they called to tell you that. I'd bet you've got your acceptance coming soon :)

I just got a phone call from Sheila Hall asking if I was interested in the accelerated program because this is my second degree. I declined because it would mean *3* clinicals in the spring semester and I would love to see my kids at least a little bit. LOL. I panicked when I saw the number though because I knew it was a U of M number and I just knew I'd forgotten something in my application. I asked a current nursing student friend if it was good that she called and she said "Oh yea!" I'm so excited! Is everyone else going with the normal program or accelerated? She also said that letters will be going out Tuesday!!

OMG that's so exciting that they actually called you. Wish it was my second degree. (I have no children, so I would have jumped on that chance) Congrats! And thanks for letting all of us who are freaking about getting our letters know when we can expect them!

Hey! So I'm actually transferring in Fall 2011 but I'm not starting Nursing school until Spring 2012 because I have some credits to catch up on. Does anyone know if I need Statistics BEFORE nursing school or if I can take it like the summer after Sophomore year?

I'm taking it this semester, but only because the pre-nursing advisor advised me that it may be easier on me to do it that way. I don't think it's a requirement though.
