Anyone applying to SRJC ADN for Fall 2016?

Published

Hi everyone,

I applied to SRJC ADN and wanted to see who else applied. I'm new to Allnurses, so my apologies if there is already a thread. If you know any info about when they are emailing us, or if you know other details, please share. Good luck everyone!!

In the acceptance letter there were instructions. It gives you a code to enter on the website. It was around $150? maybe

I was wondering about that too! I was thinking they would go over it at orientation. I have another problem I was wondering if anyone knew anything about. So I uploaded in my documents for my hep b to CastleBranch on sept. 14th and it said "pending review" until this morning when I checked it and it approved that document but it created a new task telling me to start the series over but it's telling me it's overdue. I got the first shot of the repeat series today because I was freaked out that it was late. All immunization documents are due Oct 24th right?? I really hope this doesn't hurt my spot in the program.

To answer your question, yes the immunization deadline is October 24.

I didn't have any issues with my Hep B immunization. I submitted my record showing the dates the doses were given AND a current blood titer showing positive for the antibody.

I'd suggest contacting CastleBranch and asking them to clarify the overdue deadline. In addition, read the instructions in our packet regarding repeating the series. I remember it discussing different deadlines for repeating the series. Then, if you need further clarification, contact SRJC.

I believe all the information about materials needed will be explained in orientation on Oct 7th. Hope this helps

It's not enough to just get the immunizations, you have to wait there appropriate time and have a titre fine Thomas show that your immune system is producing the antibodies to Hep B. It's not unsual for there to be a little glitch in the process. Castlebranch is just a clearing house, and not helpful Contact Andreas in Health Services Admin. She's on top of this stuff, and can elp. As ong as you did your initial series and uploaded it, you won't lose you're spot. You do need to be proactive and advocate for yourself though.

I'm in for spring 2017! Anyone commuting from the Coast? I am =)

Hey guys!! I'm hoping to finish my pre-reqs next year and apply to the ADN program! Any advice on what I can do to help my chances of getting in??

Today I received an email from Donna Green to inform me: "your lottery number is on the alternate list and there is a possibility you may be accepted with the spring 2018 cohort if a space becomes available." Anyone from an alternate list of 2016/2017 who was admitted for the Spring of 2017 knows how many people were on the list and how many were ultimately accepted?

I have already passed my TEAS test and have just forwarded my results to SRJC-ADN.

From reading previous posts, I see that some applicants were informed almost right away after taking the TEAS test that they were provisionally accepted for the Spring semester. Donna Green told me that some folks may not know until the first day of the semester (in case if they have a last minute cancelation). This is just crazy!

Also, who would be the best person to contact at the Nursing Dept. to find out how high I am on the alternate list? Anna Valdez? Donna Green did not disclose any information about the alternate list.

Thank you for your help so much in advance and good luck to everyone.

I also got an email a few days asking for me to take the TEAS exam ( i already took it and passed). My email stated that I am an alternate for both fall and spring semesters. I am crossing my fingers that there is actually space available!

No one is going to tell you how many candidates, or where you are on the list. It just won't happen, it's against their policy. But if you have everything in order and submitted, and you let her know you are ready to go immediately, you might be surprised. Be nice and show your eagerness. Her job is very difficult, makes it easier for her.
