Anyone applying to the 2017 Southern CT ACE Cohort?

Hello!! I also applied to the 2017 SCSU ACE Cohort program and am anxiously awaiting a response, as I am sure you are as well! Fingers crossed for us both!! I believe that we will likely to hear about our futures in the next 10 days. I do not think we will have to wait until April 1st.

As for my stats, those are listed below. I do know that the essays carry a good amount of weight, along with the GPAs.

Thanks for posting Sturge! That would be wonderful if we hear in the next ten days- it's so exciting to now be in March!!!

I also heard the essay counts for a lot, so I hope that's what gets me through, since I have two prereq B- from my original undergrad from ten years ago :grumpy:

Yay!!!! Congrats!!! I got my acceptance letter too, I was thrilled!!! I already mailed in my letter accepting my spot- see you on April 6th?

That's amazing!! Congratulations!!

So funny, I mailed mine as well. Felt like I needed to sign it and send it back asap to make is truly official! Haha.

My older daughter (11) was standing in the doorway of our home yesterday afternoon while I went out to check the mail and she saw me opening the letter frantically and I looked up and yelled to her, "I got in!" She sprinted across the yard, already crying and jumped into my arms and screamed, "omg, you did it mom!" It was honestly one of the greatest moments of my life! So exciting!

Hi Nicole! I'm Lauren- Did you by any chance take A&P I and II over the summer at Southern? If so I think we were in class together, I have a toddler and if you are the same Nicole, you have two daughters?

I am so glad your daughter was with you when you found out, Thursdays I normally work from home while my mom watches my daughter, and I brought in the mail and yelled "MOM! IT'S HERE!" I was shaking as I opened the letter, and thinking it was not a good sign that it was thin....I opened it up and all I saw was the word "congratulations" before I sagged to the floor, then my mom and I were both hugging and crying while my daughter was freaked out because Mommy was crying- I told her they were happy tears! I had been waiting for this letter for so long, as I'm sure you have as well. So wonderful to be able to share the moment with family.

Woo hoo! I was hoping we would be in the cohort together! I knew if I made it in I would see you, you rocked your pre-reqs!!! Soooo excited to be starting this journey, we made it! *happy dance!*

Hi, I think you're right- it's going to be very intense!!! I don't think I'll be working at all during the program. Thankfully it's only one year!
