Anyone Applying to NGCSU for Fall 2013?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello! I just submitted my application to NGCSU for next fall. I'm trying to figure out what typical stats are...I have seen posts from previous years and I am getting discouraged about getting in! I didn't think I needed to take A&P and Micro before the application deadline so I will only have A&P 1 completed by then...I'm trying to figure out if that is going to seriously hurt my chances. I have a BS in Chemistry from NGCSU so I have several science classes but my GPA was low...I really want to go to school there!!!! Does anyone know typical stats for students that are accepted?

Nberry did you get into Armstrong?

I'm pretty limited on location for where I can apply. I'm applying to Georgia Perimeter, NGCSU, MCG in Athens, Chattahoochee Tech, and maybe Georgia State...does anyone have any helpful hints for any of these? I'm thinking GSU might not be an option because of time...they recommend 80+ hrs per week for their accelerated program! Anyone else applying to Perimeter? That is my 2nd choice to NGCSU.

I also applied for fall 2012 and was wait listed. I'm sure my issue was my TEAS, which was a 70%. I have re applied for fall 2013, hopeful that I get in... I'll be taking my TEAS again sometime in January...giving me time to studying over the break. my GPA is a 3.5 and I have done all my pre reqs with A's and B's besides the ONE C I have in A&P 2. So I'm sure that was another issue.

Hey Ashbrock1091! I was wondering if you applied again! Glad to know you did. Hopefully we both get in Fall 2013! I was on the last thread you started and was waiting patiently all the way till August!

Hey NikkiT09!

Yes I was also waiting patiently till August! I was so discouraged when I didn't get that call, but I'm back at it again! I sure hope I get good news this time around. I also applied to University of West Ga, so I'm hopeful to get an acceptance from one! But I'm sure we will be good this time. I'm just hopeful to get my TEAS grade up so that I can be competitive.

AshBrock1091,

That's good you have applied to two schools this year! I am pretty confidant this time around. Although I couldn't get my TEAS scores above 80, I still did better than I did last time (I took it in Oct) Hopefully me being high on the wait list last year will bump me right on up to acceptance this year. So I wish you good luck on your TEAS in January!

Thanks! And I think you do receive extra points for being on the wait list the year before.

Well now we wait! Lol.

Good luck to both of you guys! NikkiT09 are you applying anywhere besides NGCSU? I'm applying to Georgia Perimeter as well but I've heard very mixed reviews about the school! Is anyone applying to the Oakwood campus? Good luck!!!

Not this year. Last time I applied to Kennesaw State and Ga Perimeter. NGSCU really fits my schedule/life better. I've heard mixed review as well from GA Perimeter! Thx. I wish you luck as well!

Same here! With a husband and two elementary-age kids, NGCSU is the only viable option for me. Btw, Truett-McConell College at Cleveland, GA had just opened their new BSN program and has been accepting applicants for Fall 2013. I loved their curriculum, but it was just too expensive for us, despite the fact that they are the "cheapest private school in Georgia."

I agree, astronomia! I've first applied to the program in Fall 2011 with a 2.78 GPA, a 78.6 on the TEAS, zero Biology courses, and a B.S. in Information and Computer Science. Thought that I'd be rejected, but got waitlisted instead and was admonished to get my GPA and my TEAS up to at least a 3.00 and an 80, respectively.

Fastforward to Fall 2012, got my GPA up to 3.06 with an A and a B in A/P 1 and 2, but my TEAS remained a 78.6 even after retaking it. ;p Even if I'd be waitlisted again, I'm hopeful to be called and get in to the program. :)
