Has anyone applied to NCC nursing program for spring 2012?? I applied on monday, i have 26 credits with a GPA of 3.88, my pre reqs i have a GPA of 4. What are my chances? O.o Im nervous, because i really want to get in the program! I cant wait to get my letter on the mail!
@Jodi, if you go over older threads here on allnurses, you'll find a lot of information on the interview process. everyone who gets accepted receives a "tentative" acceptance letter pending interview, but from what i've read, you can consider yourself officially accepted.
for information on what the interview is like, here's a link to an old post:

@Julia79lpn congrats on getting in! just a warning, medical microbiology is a tough class and you should get it done ASAP. granted i took it over the summer in 5 weeks which probably made it more difficult, but the class requires a ton of memorization and the labs/lab exams are a doozy (making slides using different stains, lots of microscope work, transferring/growing/identifying unknown bacteria, running a urinalysis on your own urine, and more!). you'll need a labcoat and goggles (both sold in the NCC bookstore) by your second week or if you take it in the summer, by day 2. also make sure your lab partners are serious about their work and are fairly intelligent (as in, not a total goof or shy about things like swabbing another persons mouth). sometimes you have to work together as a group and the smallest error will slow you down. don't mean to freak you out! i actually LOVED this class and love the microbiology field in general now. it is absolutely fascinating.
Is anyone that has been accepted going to the interview on monday the 12th? I heard the interview is not hard. They first talk to everyone in a group and then you have to write an essay. Then they might ask you a few questions then after that you get your class to register. They also tell you about uniforms, books, etc...
When is the deadline date for submitting application. The website is not too general with helpful information. Can anyone tell me NCC application deadline date (I'm looking forward in applying next year)? Do they admit students once or twice a year? Also, do they require any entrance exams such as the TEAS, NLN or HESI 2A? Thanks.
@Jodi=): Thanks for the info. I called the school earlier today and it seem as if the Nursing department are overwhelm with so much. I spoke with a lady and she rushed me off the phone so quick without answering my question(s). So my only resolution is looking up for the information myself and asking allnurses.com for clarity.
As I was reading the catolog, I wanted to know if NUR 101, 105, 203-204 are required for completion before admission into the program? Thanks you so much if you can assist me for clarity.
@ Jodi...I will definitely let you know how it goes.
@Juliansmom......The application is twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. To gain admission to the fall semester you have to apply the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th week of March I believe. They do not require any entrance exams. All you need is the prerequisites.
@ Juliansmom The NUR courses are required once you get into the program. You need A&P 1, Mat 102, English 101, PSY 203 to be completed to gain admission into the program. There are also other required courses that you need to take for nursing but they are not prerequisites to get in. It is best to take them in advance because once you get into the program the workload would be heavy.
