I haven't heard from any Gwinnett Tech applicants on here lately, is anyone here applying? I took the HESI evolve reach today, and I feel like I may still be in the running for one of the few spots that they have available. If anyone here thinks they might possibly get in, lets all start some communication on here so we can keep up with everything that's going on.
I just got home from my interview.Whiskey has it right, just answer the question they give you. Some questions we had in our group. How does your experience as a ( what is ever on your resume) going to help you be a good nurse?
What will you do if you dont get accepted.
What have you done to make you a an applicant stand out?
If you had to do something as a nurse that was against your morals. What would you do?
What is your learning style?
Thats all I can think of right now.
No joke???? Only 1 of those questions came up in our interview. I guess they were getting warmed up with our group??? I only answered a total of 3 questions and they were very general ones.
I also have to add that i am AMAZED at the number of:
1. Non traditional candidates
2. Men... i saw 2 in the 2pm group, there were 2 in mine, and i though i saw 3 in the 4pm group
3. The number of people with advanced degrees.
The time have TRUELY changed. My sister graduated from a BSN program in 1985 and when i told her all that i was going through and who all i was going through it with, she was FLOORED.
It's an RN program. Check out their website, Gwinnetttech.edu (how do I make that a hyperlink?) anyway,it has alot of useful info on the program there.
Thank you so much... I dont know why I didnt just think to go and look at the college's website! lol I guess all this nurse talk is getting to me. I am starting in the fall at GPC but do you have any advice of the little things I could be doing to prepare myself? Please help me out! My email is ([email protected])
Thanks in Advance!!!!
Hey Ya'll
I finished the interview yesterday. Holy Cow. I was so nervous but I was ready to answer questions. I was only asked one question direclty. And I feel like I didn't get a chance to say what was in my heart...They asked all the questions you have been saying they would, but not to me. Maybe that's a good thing since I didn't get a chance to sound nervous ??
Anyway, good luck everyone..And just remember, we MADE IT THIS FAR so that says A LOT. I hope to be seeing you all in September I HOPE!!!!!!!!
Okay... I can't take it any more! This waiting... well it feels like it has been a month since the interviews!! (not a week) Am I the only one that feels that way??? ha ha
I totally feel your pain! I have been obsessing about checking the mail and my emails! Hopefully we will hear something this week. Best of luck to you!
Remember, it will be a letter that comes from the Admissions Office. Also remember, that EVERYONE that got an interview will get a letter. 40 of the letters will be invitations to the program. My question is this: Do yall think they will send the acceptance and the "thank you anyway" letters at the same time? Just because the 40 top candidates get an invitation to the program does not mean that all of those 40 will accept the slot. I know one woman in my interview that is in the final conisderation for another program that is her first choice. But would they really send the bad news letters to the bottom 20 just to possibly turn around and rescend the rejection if a slot opens up??? Plus, how would the people who did not make the program know where they stand? How would you know you were number 41 vs number 60?
This is all so very nerve racking!!!

It is an RN program. The requirements are A&P 1&2, microbiology, College Algebra, English Comp, And Psych 1. You have to have those completed by January 15th. If you have those done, they send you a letter that requires your attendance at a mandatory meeting at which you are scheduled to take the Evolve entrance exam (also know as the HESI, HESI IIA). The top 60 in gpa and entrance exam then go for the interview after which the top over 40 are admitted into the program.
