Anyone applying to Emory Fall 2013

Hi everyone, I know there is a lot of time to apply but I missed the deadline for Fall 2012 and I was just wondering if anyone else is applying. This is a really good website to share information etc.

Just out of curiosity, what was your GPA?

What year did you enter the program and was it the traditional BSN . I have been searching for an opportunity to speak with someone who has already attended Emory to give me some insight on everything such as the essay and acceptance . I have a pretty great essay and I really want to get accepted more than ever I would like to know about to application experience and the length of time from you submitting from the time you received acceptance . I plan on submitting my app tonight or tomorrow . I'm just getting a few people to review it.

Have you ever been to the information session at Emory ? I would like to attend but I live in another state but its worth the travel of it would provide me with more info than what I already know about applying

MEEEP I want to attend as well . Do you think if I make the decision to attend I should wait to submit my application just Incase I learn something new that I can incorporate into my essay

Have you submitted your app yet ? For some reason I feel like if I submit my app earlier I will receive an answer earlier . And also if their are any unsatisfied task to complete then I would get notified before its too late to correct it

No, I won't finish my last pre-req in time for next fall since my school requires you pass A&P 2 before you can take Microbiology. I plan to apply next year, but I am still getting all the info I can now with talking to people here and visiting the campus. Helps the time pass by less painfully, haha. I think applying early is a good plan!

Oh wow that sucks . I will be finishing my class just in time. My last 2 will be completed this summer. I really wanted to start next fall so I took 6 classes this semester and I'm passing all with As maybe one b. I'm so curious to find out my final grades and GPA because if its really good I know that will help my chances of getting accepted

Wow, that is a lot of classes! How did you manage! I would do that if I could, I really hate that they space their sciences out like that - everything is a pre-req for everything else. If I could take A&P 2 and Micro this summer, I could start in the fall. Kills me!!

If there are other community colleges around I strongly encourage you to switch to a school where you can take both together I wouldn't let that hold me back a entire year

Here where I am they will override the prerequisites requirements in certain situations. I have had a few overided so I wouldn't be wasting my precious time . Speak with a counselor, let them know what you are trying to do, which is start nursing in the fall and let them know its just those two classes that would hold you back because you can't take them together. Talk to a dean if that doesn't work.
